Substitute for metal glass channel regulator? (1 Viewer)

Gentlemen,
Is there an existing work around / McGiver solution for the1978 or equivalent driver's side front door GLASS window regulator.
This is the metal part that the bottom part if the glass window sits in, along with rubber channel, and is as long as the bottom part of the window and attaches to the crank mechanism.
I do have the crank mechanism which is in good condition.

I'm presently considering a Dorman universal fit. Junkyards here in western North Carolina no longer allow people to rummage around due to liability insurance issues...
