Lots of people don’t realize crash ratings are based on the crash vehicles kinetic energy.
It is not representative of unequal vehicles colliding in an accident. Mass always wins. Structural integrity (with strategic deformation) always wins.
I’ll keep my 12MPPG V8s for as long as possible before driving around in tin can.

You point is valid and factual. The issue becomes more about trying to find a vehicle with the same weight (G Class, RR full size, Escalade etc.) that also has a good score in the small overlap crash test. But yes compared to a smaller vehicle, crash rating is somewhat insignificant.
Not sure if you are the type of person that would be sarcastic about a family in an extended Escalade running a red light at 45MPH and broadsiding my side of my 200 series, but I am not. To you, safety may be a satirical topic but it surely isn’t to me.
I am talking most specifically about the small overlap category, where it failed miserably. It performed the worst out of all trucks.

We all know you have a ton of knowledge, but you also made antagonizing comments, then criticized others for antagonizing comments.
I do not know what you provided “backup” for though. You gave no information with your first comment, then you posted pictures.
Visiting a plant doesn’t mean much, it just means you visiting a plant. I’m sure you know the reasons, but why not discuss those, instead of saying “where did you guy get this s*** from” then pictures.

So, your old 200 saved you and family. Without any info contradicting the safety of LC200 (that has proven its safety with your recent accident), i would not dump it so fast...esp if we're not even sure Tundra and LC200 are even linked.
The small offset crash test is great. BUT, i wonder how practical it is nowadays since most cars (including 2016+ LC) have Pre-Collision radar to greatly reduce front crash damage or even prevent it. I guess PCS may not see a telephone pole (????) so you're out of luck if that happens IF LC200 was as bad as Tundra in small offset. But any other type of frontal collision, PCS would be there to bail you out or at least greatly reduce change of injury.
The reason I purchased another so quickly was because I (no family inside) saw how strong the truck was. However, I have a 2013 LX which unfortunately does not have the pre-collision feature. I think the problem stems from distracted drivers who may find themselves texting and stray into an oncoming lane. Sure, this is very unlikely statistically speaking, but when it comes to life or death, I try to stack my odds as best as possible. I appreciate the now thoughtful response you've provided

Let’s just hope the OTHER car has PCS then. And given another few years, most cars on the road should have PCS. Heck, even Corolla now has PCS standard or as an option.
So, if you’re that concern about it, then get a 2016+ LC200. OR if you want the utmost safety, then Volvo is top notch...their crash test offset performance is truly legendary. I got my parents to buy an XC40 due to its safety. But obviously, Volvo is not known for their off-road ability NOR for their reliability. There is always Tesla Model X As another option.

No problem at all. I think the LC frame is different than the Tundra, and the crash test I was able to find for the LC showed good promise in frontal crashes, and I'm confident it's a very safe truck. I'll enjoy mine for the time being while also focusing to practice defensive driving.
Checked out of this thread when all the ...uh, stuff... started, but have to chime back in.
I took my LX570 to get winter tires put on (Nokian Hakka R3SUV rock btw) yesterday and they lifted it with four individual floor jacks. They were bouncing it around quite a bit as they raised all then lowered individual jacks.
ZERO flex in the frame. It was unusual enough to the tech that he even commented on it. The thing is stout!

If they did so under your front skid plate they likely bent it.
I have to watch discount tire like a hawk to make sure they use the spot on the frame behind the front tires, as stated in the manual. And did spend some time pounding out the bends in my skid after the first visit.
