When I read that originally I thought to myself "Damn Stan, that's not what guys over 50 want to hear". LOLI’m not really too old, just closer to the end than I probably should be for my age!

Those were graet gifts. See my posts #45 & #46. I've never gotten around to selling them.Dec 1977. If only I’d kept the boxes! …and not sold the fighters at an 80’s yard sale. D’oh!

Ghost lamp can be yours too! Haha@jfz80 What's with the ghost lamp in the last pic?
And pic 3 - the walls look to be a perfect '40-Series baby poop brown'.
I always thought it was C3PO and R2D2. Impressive collection across the board here Free.Ghost lamp can be yours too! Haha
Never noticed. It’s much more geometric in person but I might have a new marketing strategy
BOOM. Kept digging and finally found a storm trooper. Hiding out in the Ewok village of all places. And I didn’t recall ever seeing R2’s name spelled out

I had a rather extensive collection of MUSCLE men that I sold on eBay... Instant regret. I think I was crying as I packed them up and have missed them ever since. Dibs on Sunstreaker, Jazz, Trailbreaker, and Mirage!
Some of those GPK’s are worth serious coin. I have most of the cards on this site…. Somewhere…. I’ve not seen them in years, though. The garbage pail kids card collection and micro machines are the two things that stand out yet to be found

In most of the original merchandise and advertising they were spelled out but I don't think it took long for the short spelling to take over. I don't have it anymore but used to have the novel for the first movie, from the late 70s or early 80s and they were spelled out through all of it. The one or two starwars books I read in highschool in the 90's it had been changed to C3PO and R2D2.I always thought it was C3PO and R2D2. Impressive collection across the board here Free.
Makes sense. I never was big into Star Wars tbh, so I was just genuinely interested in how that worked out. Thanks for the intel, very cool.In most of the original merchandise and advertising they were spelled out but I don't think it took long for the short spelling to take over. I wasn't either..... I read the book when I was a kid. Didn't actually watch the movies untill I was in 6th grade which would have been 1993. I did get into it a bit more when they originals were re-released in the theaters in the late 90s but that ended as soon as the terrible prequels came out.Makes sense. The Reddit gods claim that the original script had it spelled out to help with pronunciation and the company that made the toys (Kenner) used the script. I saw Empire Strikes Back at a drive in at age 7I wasn't either..... I read the book when I was a kid. Didn't actually watch the movies untill I was in 6th grade which would have been 1993.
