Strange carfax

Hi all looking to pick up an 80 but the Carfax concerns me. Shows private party ownership twice, traded in, auctioned, then private ownership again. How would it end up privately owned after an auction? 1994 MY.

Dealers often auction off older cars that they don't want to put out on their used car area. Gotta remember ALL of our rigs are over 20 years old. That makes them antiques by some standards!

Sounds like someone skipped title or a DMV clerical error. Seeing the dates of each report would be helpful. But never the less it's not something I'd worry about. Especially on a truck of this age.

Look for accident reports on the carfax. inspecting the vehicle in person is far more important.

Even a clean carfax isn't necessarily true; I would take the report with a grain of salt. Anything after the first owner is suspect.
