Hello, on my 99 it has 275/60R18 Bridgestone Dueler H/T. Now I understand that since these tires are brand new they are not original but is the 18 inch rim? They certainly look original. Everybody that I read about on here are wondering about 16 inch rims. What gives? I need to get AT tires on this before winter so that I wont have to chain up (California  ) on my way to Mammoth skiing when its snowing 1 inch. Is there a tire that is roughly the same height? I do moderate to advanced 4x4 trails about 10-12 times a year. I do use a wheelchair so I dont want to get it too high...

Thanks,
BC

16 x 8" was all that was available on 98-02 UZJ100s. In 2003 Toyota made a 17" wheel standard, with an 18" option. Check out Toyota's website for pics.

Nitto has Terragraplers. Toyo has the Open Country A/T. Both for 18" rims in 33"-35" diameters.

your choices with the 18 are going to be far fewer than on the 16".

it sounds like the PO went shopping on ebay. i'd do the same and track down some stock 16"ers. the bolt pattern is not common, so the oem's are going to be the easiest choice.

do some checking around here for snow tires. there are tons of threads with good discussions.

in the winter we run dedicated pirellis snows on our 80 series and dedicated nokians on our 100.

good luck,
aaron

These wheels are the upgraded 18 inchers. They must have bought them to put on the 99. i have run BFG ATs on my last four cars. They are my favs. Here in socal it probably wouldnt be hard to find someone who wants to swap. Thanks a lot,
BC

bcripe,

I'm not sure if you have a Toyota or a Lexus, but I have a 99 LX 470 that I'm wanting to switch from 16's to the 18's.......If you're interested in getting rid of yours, please let me know, and we'll talk.

Thanks,

dnp
