so i swapped my wheels for some stock steelies that were the piggy i just bought.
the two that don't have hub cap clips fit fine and the two with clips rub on the calipers up front and won't clear the drums in the back.
there some big ugly spot welds on the inside, can i grind these off?
anybody have any ideas?
could i have gotten some chevy rims?

nothing beats messing around in the drive way in -22

thanks,
eric

Chebby rims do not have a large enough center hole, but can be machined out. If your non-fitting rims are riveted that may be your clearance problem. The stock steelies for disc axles are welded.

Never seen ANY rim that didn't fit the cruiser drum rear. Period. What makes your rear drums different? Full float? Foreign market 3" system?

it's impossible to till if they are stock but each truck have the same brake drums? '81bj42 and a '78 fj55.

For my FJ40 I had to add a 2" bolted wheel spacer to clear the calipers on my modified full floating rear, after I replaced the drum brakes with front discs. I use OEM FJ80 foreign market 16" steel wheels.
