I called and asked Stockton who they source their steel from. Guy on the other end said US steel.

I like the way those wheels look and they look like exact physical copies of the 42601-AD030 right down to the oval hole by the valve location..

Good to know. Thanks Matt.

The wheels are custom. As I recall I sent them a photo of what I wanted and they produced the wheel. I think they turned out really well. If you want to order some call Andre at Stockton. They were sold to me on sales order #6366 in March. Reference number 69482.

As mentioned, it took a while to the get the wheels as they were having "issues" with their outsourced powder coater. That may be resolved or you could get them raw and powder coat locally. I used ANSI 49 Gray, 40% gloss paint.

No spacers....perfect fit.

How is the ride on them @umpqua ?

Runout on steel wheels are usually the worse when it comes to uniformity (leading to vibration). OEM suppliers are pretty good about controlling this issue though.

I put on new Cooper ST Maxx tires and a circumcision was performed on a paved road at 70mph.

lol...Tried to find the "Royal Deluxe II" commercial from SNL, but apparently NBC thinks they own the copyright on that stuff. Bah! (if you don't remember it, it's the "our luxury car rides SO smooth that we had a rabbi perform a circumcision in the back of a speeding car" commercial. Very early Saturday Night Live stuff).

I think those Cooper ST Maxx may be my next tire. I really like the look of M/T's but their snow/ice performance is usually pretty lacking.
It appears these are a little more aggressive than most A/T's. I will probably be getting 255/85r16's though.

I wasn't too impressed with the ST Maxx on snow/ice. They do have provisions for studs on the tire which is neat. That said, I enjoyed the tire just about everywhere else. Thrashed them pretty good in Baja, Moab and throughout SW Utah this past year and they performed nicely for an aggressive A/T. No issues at all, no notable chunking, no staked sidewalls, no punctures, no popped beads. The sidewalls are firm so you'll want to air down a tad bit more than usual. I'll probably snag a set for the Troopy.

When I bought the tires we put on a 255 and the tire looked bigger than what I wanted....it stuck out too far on the side of the truck. Personal preference obviously...my take only.

I've been told Toyota still has available a six-lug, non-split-rim 16-hole wheel for the 70 series. I'd love to get a set for ours, but I haven't yet confirmed this. The Stockton looks like a good alternative.

try Canadian market BJ-70. These might be 15in though. I have a set of 16in but they came on the BJ-70 when I bought it a long time ago.
