whats going on with the apparent leak around the base of the carb? is that gas?

Took the insulation blanket off the underside of my hood because it was so torn up. Have you guys noticed the support ribs aren't even connected to the hood!?!? It just sits on there, no spot welds or anything except around the perimeter where it's hemmed/joined.

Does it look like they were welded at one time? I've seen several folks squirt body sealer in there to glue them together.

should have been glued to start with.

use seam sealer to glue back if you want . have to remove hood so you can put some weight on it until the sealer sets up .

Puma Air Compressor... Well I've added to my collection of parts..."on-board-air"...I bought one of the small dc powered PUMA air compressors. I plan to figure out a mounting solution in the rear bed area of the 60... So have to do the wiring..etc. I've been looking around at what others have done on the board... some guy makes a mount that is tailored to the 80's...but probably would work for the 60 too.

I'm surfing around looking for wiring setups and other related ideas... I ordered some misc air chucks, hose, tire infaltor "gun"... from amazon..

Anyone have any info on good sources for plumbing this or setup...post up

I use DOT plastic truck air line on my truck. They make two types of fittings , a farrow type and a push pull type. The line comes in 1/8 to 1 inch.
I get mine from Carquest. Amazon carries it but appear to be higher than CQ.

my a/c still works so gotta run with that as long as I can.

Yea I agree...I don't know how crazy I'll go with the install but you could have a remote switch to turn on the compressor and have an external air chuck or two for easy accesses. For now I'll just be happy to have my own source of air and get it mounted and wired and functional.

seats from a BMW three series...soon to be in the front of my 60. Yea the interior is tan/brown, but these are a matched pair and in great shape and I'm not all caught up on the interior matching anyway. I have some of the torfab brackets too. Got the wiring harness "jumpers" too.

The guy from the salvage yard tells me that BMW runs the brown wire for ground, orange for power. These seats have some type of module too...tilt and some other electric adjustments.

Should be major improvement to front seat comfort once I get them in.

this is the BMW salvage yard...they sell on ebay too. Good guys to deal with..no problems and the seats were as described... basically across 85 from Road Atlanta (which I did not know but learned taking the long way back home / rather than drive back through Atlanta again...

Do those come in a heated and cooled option?

My Lexus seats have thermoelectric coolers with a fan, so no refrigerant, but something like that would be sweet.

the ones I have are heated and have lumbar adjustment plus normal electric movement. I don't know much about the BMW stuff as I was only looking for a pair of 3 series seats to work with the torfab brackets. I would assume in the higher numerical series cars...they might have more of the "luxury" stuff, the 3 series seats were what the brackets were made to support so I'm not sure what the difference may be in the mounting points for the other series seats...
