got a 97 fz with and air bag and cruise stalk.
its brown leather with airbag and completely hammered.....
airbag unit is ok and would like to re-use if possible
what other models use the same style wheel, if any?
tundra looks similar? taco? 4runner? camry?

thanks in advance

It is likely that no other wheel will be able to use the air bag from the cruiser. For that matter, the airbags are usually specially designed for each vehicle. I'm not sure if this was the case in 97 or not, but it can be checked by a good parts guy, or you can try to cross reference using toyotapartsoverstock.com

As far as bolting up, there are probably a few that will work.

What do you mean by "hammered?"
There are some options for re-skinning the wheel with leather which might be cheaper than replacing it.

Lexus LS400 - although many/most have faux wood insets in the rim.
Somebody has a reskinned wheel you buy w/ a core on your beat unit, I forget who & it was big $$, many hundreds IIRC

Cost me $400 to repair the rubber core (they all need it), add a thin layer of padding (to increase the diameter slightly) and recover with new Oak leather.

Craft customs in Texas does a really nice job redoing the factory wheel. About $350 if I recall

I did need to have the airbag re died. Not shown in this pic

Just read on another thread of a guy using an LS400 wheel. The plugs for the airbag were different though. I believe it was the "What did you do with your 80 this weekend" thread. It was in the past few days.

I also swear I'd seen a Camry/Avalon/Solaria -that had the right size for an airbag & it was rubber, like the older budget-package level got. I saw it once while trolling a pick-a-part, haven't bothered to look in 3-5 ys.
Google images?? - slight smaller dia, but airbag was the std Toy/Lex size of our era.

Hey what about for us pre-95 guys with no airbag or clock spring nonsense?

Can i just get myself a sweet-ass Nardi and some adapters?

95 to 97 ls400 works 98 to 2000 works but has extra buttons.

am I reading that the ls wheel will accept the lc airbag?
that was the impression I got anyways.
im on a budget trying to keep cost under 50-60 bucks
so if I need to buy an airbag too I will just re-cover what I got
with a universal kit

I too did wheel skins, very happy. Only spent 50 bucks. They send a free leather sample with several color options.

Wheels skins is the value option .... but

Love my wheel redone by craft custom. I had them redo the foam and add a 1/4" to diameter and add real wood to match my Car Id trim
