Welcome to MUD!

You have already answered your own question. Tighten that nut! It's sparking and smoking due to a loose connection. Just be careful and don't weld the wrench to the frame.

For your own sake, take the positive battery terminal off BEFORE you tighten the nut. May as well clean off any corrosion while you have the two cables off....

Good luck!

A wedding ring can turn into a toaster, a red-hot toaster when the wrench you are holding touches the frame or other ground:eek:

sorry i should have bin more specific. the bolt is actually a threaded post that comes out of the solenoid. it is really loose unless you tighten the nut down all the way then it gets tight. (i dont know if that matters) but i have the positive from battery and the ignition positive. and its the from battery one sparking.

I figured it out! there was a lump of solder that was negative and it was just touching the positive battery cable. i flipped it so it didnt touch and it worked!
