Hi all,

There are a lot of little things that I wonder about but I don't feel merit that I start a new thread. Still, I'm curious. Maybe this can serve as a repository for those misc questions that are still searchable but don't necessarily fit elsewhere? If no one else sees the value I'll just post mine here LOL!
As a newbie owner I love this thread!

Thanks for all the help and links to VERY helpful threads. I finished up the Radiator, water pump, etc. now I have a coolant leak.

Time to take it apart again.

I can’t remember recommended service intervals for diff/tcase. Is it 30k for both? I thought tcase was longer. TIA.

30k miles for transfer case and the diffs if you are towing or carrying a lot of weight.

For "normal" driving conditions service manual recommends that you inspect fluids - change not explicitly recommended.

Really dumb question - is it OK to leave the spare tire chain dangling? When the spare is fully up there is a lot of "slack" and the chain dangles just below the spare. Should I zip tie it to the wheel?

I would just let it dangle, or else you’d be fighting a zip tie on the side of the road.

The clinking and clanging of the chain is part of the charm and experience :)

Just be careful to have it go through the center hole, not out lying on one of the wheel spokes. Damage will ensue.

Roger that. No issues there.

Two bolts, they do come out the front holes. Pay special attention to the detail in the above thread about using the upper bolt to drive the clamping lug backward. If that isn’t done the pump will fight your attempts to get it out.

I seem to remember someone else using a bolt into the back of the clamping lug and some spacers around the lug, against the aluminum casting it is inserted into, to draw it away from the pump body but can’t recall where I saw that.
The spacer trick was in your linked thread. 😉
Thank you very much for the great information! Pump came out without problem this morning. What type of drive is used to remove the bolt in the attached pic. View attachment 3964638
That apparent locktite around the alignment collar (term?) makes me think that alternator has been off before. It is known to come out attached to the old alternator on some posts around here and has to be reinserted. Was a press fit from the factory I believe. At least I didn't see locktite on mine but only looked close enough to ensure it was still there.

Good call on doing the brush while in there. Cheap insurance.

I think that’s actually the grease I used to prevent future sticking, with the image being pulled from the same thread.

My SQOTD - Dog Steps?
Anyone figure out a set of dog steps that will line up and fit to the 2nd row doors? (2020 LC200 HE)
I bought a collapsible set of dog steps for my guy to get up and down in the 2nd row, but they are to wide. The doors don't open to 90 degrees, and the landing rods are 15" centers and the landing on either side doesn't let both rods actually reach the landing......

Great SQOTD! I do not remember any one bringing up this topic and giving some examples. Then again, refer back to my mud handle. I have always just made a ramp from what I had around and covered them with carpet but would like to have a portable/collapsible steps instead of a ramp. When I installed sliders many years ago, I chose Bud Built w/kick out, not angled up and diamond plate on top. I would say they are the strongest sliders out there for supporting the LC200 and thinking about my dogs getting their own launch platform into the back seat with the kick out.

I will be watching this question for more info from others. Thanks for asking.
