Just a guess, but the amp for the upgraded sound system in the LX570 lives in this area. They may have designed the platform with this in mind and it is just left as empty space in the LC200 variant.
It isn't empty, at least in my 200 (I can't speak for others), there is some electronic component in there. The gaping hole in the carpet and plenty of open space makes it easy for stuff to fall into though.

I dropped my phone a few weeks ago and it made its way into this space. It was incredibly difficult to locate and retrieve even though I was using the find a phone function to make it ring with my Garmin watch.

Just investigated this. You guys have to come over. Like, right now. Mine conceals a hidden hallway. Possibly to Atlantis. There are portals. [... Enters. Never posts again...]

Another question - how do I remove the plastic cover under the 2nd row seat? I removed a few screws, but couldn't seem to get all the clips removed. I was afraid of breaking something.

I have something rolling around and making noise over bumps and turns. I think something fell into the 2nd row.

They just snap off. Plastic clips.

Stupid question, or maybe a challenge: Who else knows about the hidden cavern beneath the front seat carpet? Kiddo dropped something this week and I found there is a slit in the carpet just behind the front trim on both driver and passenger seats. After retrieving the toy I also pulled out a dozen pens, a 1/4” ratchet (PO’s), a mystery key, and other assorted junk.
I just bought a new to me 200 and pulled the seats to do a deep clean. Guess what I found!
A brand-new looking Leatherman Charge, a few nice carabiners plus lots of french fries.

Ok, are the center diff and transfer case effectively the same thing on the lc200/lx570?
I think you are asking if the center diff and the transfer case are the same part. They are integrated. The actuators for 4lo and the center diff lock are both in the same place.

If not, we've answered the question either way it could be interpreted.

Anyone know if the pink drain hose should connect into the black one?

Thanks! This is what I was looking for, the dealership serviced my “transfer case” after I asked them to service the center diff being all time 4 wheel drive I figured your explanation would be the case but just wanted to confirm.

I've got a 2013 LX. A few months back, I put some 33s on it and have made the decision to run without a spare (for now).

I've noticed that the "rake" seems a bit more pronounced without the spare in the back as well as me having removed the 3rd row. The rear end seems higher.

To fix this, would it be as simple as just adjusting the back AHC sensors so it sits more level? Or perhaps since it's "AHC," in Normal mode it always defaults to that height. Basically, has the rake been the same the whole time and I'm just now noticing?

Springs don't care about AHC. You take weight out of the back, the back goes higher, you have more rake. No idea if you can dial it out with AHC.

I think if you are noticing this while the truck is parked and off thats totally fine. The amount of weight in the rear is what settles the rear end in that scenario, and you will just be perceiving it that way.

That should not be happening when the truck is running and ahc pressurized. It should sit exactly as it was until you touch the sensors.

Have you had a look from outside after a L-N cycle with the truck running?

Good call, I guess this answers half of my question. Since it's AHC, it should lower to get to the height it thinks it should be at while the system is active.

I'm usually the one driving so I don't get out to look that much - at least not specifically at the ride height. I'll go investigate.

Exaclty. The woosh sound when parked that happens usually is the system dumping the rear end. Since you have less weight there now, the coils are working less and it looks like it’s settling with more rake.

Should be just the same as before when its running, as it wont actuate past where the sensor is unless youve fiddled with it.

Actually, that's the beauty of AHC in that doesn't care about load added or taken away (to a point). It will always re-normalize to the height targets set by the sensors.

If you took the spare out when the car is parked, yes it sit higher. The next time it's started, it will re-normalize.

The stock setup does have some rake built in. It's likely just a visual figment of taking the spare out as that makes the rear end look higher without the spare hanging down.

Alternatively, you can dial in a tad of lift up front (recommend .5-.75") and it'll always be level. Regardless of what weight you add at the rear.

I want those French fries back. Those were not part of our deal.
