interesting, i really really REALLY hope theres a way to retrofit the 07' when/if a removable comes out... THIS is what i really wanted in the first place and i'd hate to have to try and trade mine in for a new one.

this thead is worthless without pictures.:crybaby:

huh

FJ Cruiser Convertible
Everyone seems to dig the retro-inspired FJ Cruiser (we gave the vehicle an Automotive Excellence Award last year for design). Toyota will take a page out of Jeep’s playbook at SEMA this year and show a removable hardtop version of the FJ Cruiser. The top system is said to work easily. The insiders we spoke with hinted that “the expense of creating a one-off show truck with a removable hard top wouldn’t make much sense.” Translated, that means the vehicle shown is probably a prototype of a production version. Expect to see one on dealer lots within a year or two.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Honestly, I never thought Toyota would go back the the removable top. Cool if they do though. VERY cool!

No way to retrofit something like this.

sounds exciting! Maybe they will basically keep the framed windows, etc and make removeable roof panel - basically the white roof and rear 1/4 windows/hatch- kind of like the Jeep KJ 4-door.

The TRD FJC pickup w/ removable hardtop would be cool too! Hope the TRD PU becomes a production reality!
