I'm in for two as long as they do not rattle!

I would think if the hole is large enough a rubber grommet would eliminate that possibility.

I'm in for 1 that will fit a '91 FJ80.

Put me in for 4. I have a strong feeling the spacing is the same for the 60 series as well. If it is the split hook design with the holes (which I am hoping) then I have no problem using them behind the driver and passenger seats and just securing a notched tennis ball or like item to the hooks when not in use.

I have two quick concerns, although am interested in 2, but before I commit...

Is there any metal to metal wiggle that will be marring up the headposts?

Someone else mentioned rattle? (which might be solved with a rubber grommet), which also might answer the previous question too.

Thank you.

Looks like this is a hit!
I don't get it though. What problem does this solve? If the back pack pictured was 6 inches lower and sitting on the floor whats the difference? What am I missing?

The is no marring (at least none that I have seen yet), there is no rattle...the holes are cut specifically for the application. This means that it will fit exactly...we even take into account the thickness of the powdercoat.

The pack in the picture is 4-5 inches above the floor in the FJC. The original problem that this solved was for a military request to develop something that would keep a pack or load bearing vest in a position where its accessory components would be accessible (IE: Quick access to Mag pouches and flares).

It just happens to work very well for keeping the rear seat clear and stuff off the floor too.

Put me down for 2.

Looks like a well thought-through product!

I have stop updating the "head count" list as the 80 series BPH has received the OK for production. All future orders can be place on springtails site once available. Thank you(s) to all who have expressed sincere interest to this product.

Is it to late??? If not put me down for 1
Thanks!!

You are not too late springtail is planning on having these available from their site in several weeks. Stay tuned...

In order to do this right, I would have to make different mounts for the front and back seats. There is a significant difference in the layout of the front and rear seats as far as distance to the seat back from the head rest posts.

Right now the boss says I can do one or the other...which would you prefer. I am guessing that rear seat hooks would be more desirable.

If they sell, I would be more inclined to convince the boss to make the other style as well.

i think its a bad idea

Spoke with Doc over at Springtailsolutions.com (MUD vendor) about a design for a backpack hook setup for the 80, he is currently making them for the FJ crowd, he is interested in meeting my request and the request of several other 80 owners who have expressed similiar interest for this product. Depending on the interest, need at least 20 orders, he will start the production for the 80 series. Below is an example of the backpack hook.

Back Pack Hooks

Post here to help me keep track and PM Doc to express your interest. Each unit sales for $19.95ea. + shipping.

Thanks,

There is a reason why everything inside the cabin is soft - it absorbs impact. I know seat belts are meant to secure the kids/people in the back seat but I still wouldn't have anything that hard / sharp head level - just my opinion. They could have design something that does exactly the same thing without looking like it will crack your skull open.

I thought you were the boss!

My preference would be mounts for the front seats; generally I won't be using the rears when I need these. Rear mounts could have their purpose, but those seats are shorter and I'd be less likely to use them to hang a pack or a coat.

Thanks!

x2...I think I'd be interested for 2 (at least one--I'm quite poor at the moment), but ONLY if they were for the front seats.

Great idea!

I believe on some of the others ones i saw there was a warning in bright yellow something like
"Do not leave this in place when there are rear seat passengers"
as a safety warning.

It should be common sense not to leave these in place when having people in the rear seats.
