Got back at 1230 last night. (left kinda late) Not a bad ride home except for the monsoon in rocky mount that had us crawling at 10mph on the highway.

Thanks to everyone for the great times and company. Glad the Kentucky boys made it down for he ride as well as the guys from Virginia and Henry from Atlanta. :D

Does anyone know whos black colored lifted 80 with the stinger and snorkle was?? We passed it on thursday heading south from corrolla to the brewery.

UPDATE:

Drove the 80 last night for about an hour and drove it again this morning, I will put it on the rode quite a bit today and see how it does, I think I had the same issue Jon Barnes had and that is it was to much of a load and with the 315's and another truck with 35's in tow it just put to much strain. Glad it all worked out like it did and that we stopped when we did. I will be installing an aftermarket temp gauge hidden with a warning tone...going to have to do some research but I know it can be done.

Mileage update on the Isuzu Diesel Mileage in the 40. I put a total of 32.02 gallons in the 40 which included the drive from Tarboro back to my driveway yesterday. Total trip was 672 Miles which gives me an average of 20.98 MPG's, I noticed a significant drop on my way home but I was also tracking far higher RPM's than during any other portion of the trip. Also the headwind wasn't in my favor. All in all it was pretty impressive.

good to hear greg. also dont forget about the RavenTai temp gauge mod that let the stock temp gauge read actual temp. Im going to pull the cluster and do this soon.....as well as replace the D light

Jon, I think I'll do the same. I'm going to do a bunch of electrical work on the 80 (Temp mod, 7pin, CDL, D light, and install some extra power points) maybe go with a extra battery, inverter and some DC plugs. After I get the skid plate on!

Uneventful trip for us too. No kayaks lost, and no death wobble.

Pulled off because Lily wanted some grub, and found out a tornado was spotted in the area. Heather had the CB I got from Jared off, so we didn't get a weather update.

Wanted to let everyone know even with the work involved, I still had a great time, and a great birthday. Can't think of any other way I'd rather celebrate it. Immediate family and my new extended family! And I got a great birthday present!

Where was that tornado?? I think I might have got some excess wind from that going home. I got blown clear across 2 lanes.

What a great trip! The family and I had an awesome time...can't think of a better way to relax for a few days.

Guess we officially broke-in the FJ with some 4 wheel action :D and lots of sand!

Uneventful trip home...back to the grind today.

Thanks to everyone who helped plan, cook and make everything go so smoothly...I know the rest of us really appreciate it!

Great to meet some new folks as well...hope to see everyone in May.

I fought the wind going home also. I got home in time to watch the tornado follow Hwy 64 near Nashville. Looked pretty crazy on TV.

As other mentioned, I had to keep it out of OD to maintain 70 mph and I got blown around a bit also. Going over the bridges kept me on my toes to keep the FJC and trailer in my lane...

The STR was great. Special thanks to Brian and Heather! Ready for URE!

PS - The cruiser convoy allowed the 100 to get exceptional mileage! Diesel 40, 45, FJC and the 100 bringing up the rear.

Like all have said - thanks - it was a great time! (wish it'd been a bit warmer though on Sat!)
I only snapped a few so here is the link...STR 2010 pictures by jaredrh - Photobucket

Hmmm that most likely was about the time I was driving near nashville..... I was wondering why it got dark so fast and the hail, rain, lightning massive wind surges could have been an indicator also.

Did anyone else see the dead black bear near Tarboro on the left hand side of the road?

For the convoy group a black toyota venza was stopped looking at it when we went by.

Wow, I for sure saw that bear!

Cinder thought I was crazy and I was second guessing myself...not anymore!

We stopped to see an alligator in the alligator river as well...pretty cool.

No alligators for me.

I did see a Thresher shark on Friday night some guy had reeled in and that bear on Sunday. I should have stopped and taken a picture. It was big. I would say 200+ lbs, maybe more.

I saw the bear too. Pretty good wildlife sighting weekend....A bear (although Dead), the wild horses, Sea Lion or Seal or whatever it was, the 100lbs shark friday night (uzj100s first pic), and some crazy heads on sticks.

A group of folks stopped at the side of the river looking at something tipped me off and I flipped a U to show the girls.

I was flying by the bear and thought...wow was that a dead bear? It was hard to miss for sure, but no time to turn around.

That's pretty impressive with 35s and the fact a 40 is built like a box.

I logged 785ish miles round trip on the Chevy and mileage ended up being about 13-14mpg. I suffered on the way home with the winds...handling was not bad just extra fuel...

My first pic is a red drum carcass. I did not take a picture of the shark or bear.

Didn't catch the dead bear and really bummed I didn't see the gator. I did see a live possum as it went under my tire though and a dead one when it came out on the other side. :grinpimp:

Couldn't do much about it.

oh i see it now...didnt really take a close look at the pic...just figured it was from the shark
