You know, I noticed the Jeep. I always notice the Jeeps. I had a CJ8 at one time, but that's another story. These days I just feel sorry for Jeep owners. They are getting more and more car-like and somehow the 'easter eggs' do nothing for me. Feels like trying to make up for lack of substance with style.

This probably isn't fair, but I 'spotted' 6 old land cruisers today

A buddy of mine, Zain, and I took the plunge and rented a small amount of warehouse space in Dubai Investment Park 2 for our various old trucks.

The silver one is my automatic turbo diesel RHD to LHD conversion problem child. The green and white trucks in the middle are Zain's manual carbureted 1FZ 80's he's been working on, the white truck you can barely see at the end is my manual Omani model 80 straight diesel 80, the silver pickup is my project pickup and the white 70 to the right of the second photo is my Omni Troopy. All the 80s have two tanks and factory rear spares. And that's Zain's 2CV in on the right there. He washed the dust off of it this evening.

I just couldn't resist sharing these photos. I drove Zain's trucks and my Omani manual diesel for the very first time today. Really interesting how different the driving experiences were, but all were great fun!
