This beauty of a 1967 FJ40 was spotted in Marysville, TN….the owners own Swara Taproom….the beer is cold, the service is impeccable.

On special occasions, the beer taps on the Cruiser can accommodate.

Sounds like you've had a couple of 40 pints

I travel to Knoxville Tennessee 1week per month for work….However, there is ample time to check out local ‘watering holes’…..the 67 FJ40 caught me off guard…and with the taps hanging out the back….i had to stop in and get the story.

From the owners wife, ‘the rig was originally from California, where it was updated with the beer dispensing arrangement. There was also a small trailer modified the same way that the Cruiser pulled. They bought the truck and trailer, and had it shipped to Tennessee, then sold the trailer. They use it at beer festivals, weddings and other related venues’.

It is quite the find, true one of a kind! As far as the rest of the rig, pretty much all original 1967 FJ40.

LMK when you're back in the area. We're in Ooltewah/Chattanooga just below that brewery. I'll buy ya a beer. :)

Mark:

Where are you going in NY? If close to me we can connect for a beer at my Vet's Club in Cooperstown, right across the street from the Baseball Hall of Fame.
I visit my 96 YO mom in Dryden, near Ithaca, make the trip several times a year….i haven’t been to Cooperstown since middle school (I’m 70+ now)…I would love to meet. Maybe split the driving distance (meet half way)….any chance I get to talk Land Cruiser, I’ll take…..and if beer in involve, icing on the cake.

Cheers🍺

I’m here through August 1st, back to Washington (state), then to NY for a week. I’ll be back in Tennessee 1st week in September. I’ll collect that beer as we talk about old iron….pre 7o’s land cruisers.

Be Good, Be Safe

Cheers🍺
oh to be a fly on the wall for that conversation

I hope you are working because you enjoy your job? I gave up my job at 60 and never looked back. I am 70+ too. I go to the grocery store and see people older then myself that are store shoppers pushing around heavy cart. Just sad.

For the 67 really need these hub caps for a true 1960s feel.

Not sure why I saved these pictures but one these would make even more unique, but not quite correct for 67. I have one of these for my 68.

I’m curious about the vent, I assume it’s the heater intake vent. I’ve seen angled ones before but I didn’t know it was associated with 1968 models. Mine are straight…..and the picture is the original vent.

Was that a an option, or something from another country (ROW)?

PS Fender and upper panel installed.webp

These were only used on first year (65 model) of the factory installed heater. They had to have RHD and LHD louvered vents with the 45° angle. Straight all they had to do is spot weld the blank off on the opposite side for the right left hand sides.

Years ago someone selling parts off a 65 on eBay. I spotted the angled vent in a copper colour close to my repainted 68. Contacted the seller and bought the vent from him. Somewhere since then I acquired a white one.

My ‘67 was originally Spring Green also. Do you think it would sprout little beer nipples if I returned it to it’s original color? Asking for a friend.

I work because, if I stay home, my wife’s ’honey-do’ list is hard labor…..my job is a whole lot easier, plus I get paid….🤣🤣🤣

I am 69 and still working half-time, sometimes more. I love what I do, I do 90% of it from home on my own schedule, and it pays well. No plans to stop any time soon.
