Can you guys tell me what to tell my paint guy about my split hood? Should the split be filled at all before paint? Or should it be completely empty and just primered and painted?

It’s supposed to have a seam just like the rockers and rear sill. If there aren’t certain seams visible, it screams bondo buggy.

Fill the hood seam? Yuk.

2x on the seams (and spot welds). It's just not the same without them, and it's the first thing I look for when trying to determine what the seller/owner is trying to hide.

I don’t want to fill them I want original...what I’m trying to figure out is if from factory there was any sealer in the seam or did they just weld the two pieces and prime/paint. I’ve scraped all of the bondo out from PO paint job with a blade but wasn’t sure if any of that was original seam sealer etc.
