Took me a few weeks to get around to posting this, but better late than never.

I've been the happy owner of one of Speski's barriers for my 80 for a few years but lately we have been taking the Hundy more often than not so I decided it was time to get one for my 99 LC. With my wife and 2 kids, we have to pack the truck pretty tight to make it through 3-4 days in the Mojave or Death Valley.

I ordered from Corbet in early November and he had it to me in about a week. As usual, his quality is top notch and the powder coating seems durable and looks great. Installation took less than 10 minutes and it feels very solid once installed.

We spent 4 days in D.V. over Thanksgiving weekend and had junk packed right up to it, rubbing against it the whole time, and it looks none the worse for wear. I would gladly buy again, and I'm sure my kids agree since they don't have to worry about sleeping bags etc. constantly falling on top of them. :)

Pictures should be attached.

Nice! I think this will be my next purchase. I wish it would fold up, seeing that I sleep in the back and my legs aren't skinny enough to fit through the barrier. Does it feel strong enough to mount a fire extinguisher and other things to it? Can you take a picture with the rear seats folded down? What are the measurements from the top of the seat back to the bottom of the barrier?

I would have thought only Cujo could have justified almost $400.

Looks very sturdy if you should decide to get a Cujo.

My trail driving style combined with kids and camping gear makes it an easy choice. Cujo or no cujo. It's on the list somewhere...

The barrier is more than strong enough to bolt a fire extinguisher, etc. to it. I would be worried about the bolt threads that hold it in though, I would be worried about them stripping, depending on what kind of roads you drive on. I tend to end up on washboard roads which rattle everything to hell.

I will try to get pictures of the seats folded down this weekend when I have some daylight.

Mine too.

Looks very sturdy.

Need to get a few more things done first, but next year . . . definitely.

As a general rule I do not recommend any items be mounted to the barrier. It adds additional stress to the captured nuts in the roof and was never part of the design criteria of the barrier.
