Could someone please tell me which wire is the speedo input to the back of the instrument cluster on a HZJ79 (2000 Model).
I have changed the diff ratios from 4.3 / 1 to 3.9 / 1 and I would rather not jack up the car and run it in gear to look for variable voltage from one of the pins.
Thanks in advance.

OK so that didn't work, I ran the ute in 5th gear at idle which showed about 30kph. I removed the central blue multi pin plug which stopped the speedo and tacho working.
I then checked the individual pins for voltage and found nothing that would increase with revs (road speed).
That has exhausted my brain power for now and am open to suggestions

My 1992 speedo is cable driven (ie mechanical), so no wire.

But the FSM EWD will show you all of this. Do you have those manuals? You can get them either here via the RESOURCES tab at the top or on the Cruiser Cult website.

Thanks for that. I have spent hours going through the manuals trying to find the one. I'll keep looking I'm not so good with technology. Cheers

My bad. I looked for a newer 70 series EWD from 2002. The older EWD's do not look like the cover electronic speedos. I couldn't find the newer manual in there.
I found it , the wire is green with a brownish red stripe, position 10 in the blue plug. Thanks
