I always wondered what would give...

Backing slow and straight out of my parking spot this vendors speeding Camry smashed into my rear bumper at a slight angle. He was going fast enough that his car pushed the rear of my twice-as-heavy truck sideways several feet as it can be seen in the third photo. I felt the Cruiser lift a little at the same time the rear get pushed hard sideways. It struck with a loud impact and glass breaking that was heard from inside the store.

The car is being towed, the LC's bumper tow point opened up the sheetmetal and glass like a can opener. It appears nothing is tweaked just some powdercoat scuff. Having a closer look underneath tomorrow.

And to think this happened right at our busy crosswalk between buildings! I'm glad no one was hurt from this person driving incredibily reckless in a packed parking lot.

Thx Tommy :D

Dibs on your bumper if they total the 80.:flipoff2:

Get yourself checked out. A hard bumper protects your rig but transfers a lot of force to the occupant. My worst injuries didn't show up until a month after getting hit.

Yikes! I know what you mean. I go by that crosswalk super slow because you cannot be sure if someone is walking past or driving out from the customer drop-off.

Sorry it had to be your rig but probably better than you having to call some up-tight customer to explain what happened to their car...

With the 1/4" of clearcoat on your rig, just about any impact from a Camry should buff out...

As Mike said should buff out. As long as no one was injured it will all work out ok.

Sorry to see that on your LandCruiser, murf. Hope it all turns out well and there's no other visible damage.

Wow, glad no one was hurt. Based on the damage it would seem that the Camery was moving along pretty good.

I'm glad he missed the spare tire set up. from underneath and outside, other than the powdercoat everything looks fine. I'ts all good, having Tommy use 1/4" steel made it heavy but strong.

thankfully I wasn't in the 40 which doesnt have a big rear bumper!

So Murf. Does CBT insurance cover the parking lot,or is it between the other drivers and your insurances? I ask because something similar happened to my wife a while back. We wound up paying medical bills and repairs. My wife was the one in reverse.

I don't think the owner of a private lot would be responsible for the actions f two individuals on that lot. Between the drivers and their insurance. Unless it involved a vehicle representing the company while on business.

About time that 80 got a scratch on it... :flipoff2:

Good thing it didn't get the rear gate or quarter.

The Oompa Loopas already buffed it out.

You guys need to put down the remote and get out more :p

as far as rear bumpers for a 40:

a pick-up with a camper trailer backed into mine in a gas station on Saturday

parking brake was set, spare tire took the brunt - luckily, they were only going, like, 5mph only, and heard me yelling STOP at the top of my lungs - passenger woman gets out: "did we hit you ?" - "would you know a better reason for me yelling at you ?" - "we didn't think there was anybody there" - yeah, how about actually LOOKING ? :bang:

their spare tire on the camper backed against and kinda under my spare . . . and it didn't look pretty after all :hillbilly: - let's just say their spare tire mount became royally mangled . . .

no damage to the 40 :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

sorry for the hijack

I know the feeling! I still cant get over all the distracted drivers going down the road with texting, phone calls, reading, gawking, etc, etc

no damage to the 40 :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
thank goodness!

Nobody actually drives a car anymore - they do everything but drive - amazing there are not more accidents - yet

Sorry to see that, glad it wasn't too bad. Was the driver good about it, remorseful, apologetic etc?
