Speed Blaster

A local cruiserhead is letting me borrow his blaster to knock out some rust(thanks Larry!), but I was thinking about picking up a speed blaster for random small bits in the future.
Anyone have one? Work well? Need special media?

More importantly, for me the biggest problem with a blaster is the mess, so does anyone know if the hotspot blast recovery attachment works well?
