I'm leaving in 4 or 5 days. Depending on when Tabraha's 100 is ready. I've got to finish outfitting his 100 by Friday. Then I need to get mine ready (CV Axle, t-case flush, balance and remount tire with air leak(2), clock winch, install fridge, wire dual battery, and a few others). I also have work, and moving to a new place, as well as finishing up another set of headlights.

Should be a fun 4 or 5 days

Jonsey's drilled and slotted rotors installed, ceramic pads. Think I'll stomach ANOTHER front end alignment before the trip, will definitely change out fluids

Fridge should arrive this afternoon but I won't be able to afford a dual batter setup until later in the year (in the meantime I need to work out a safe mount for it). Also bought a voltemeter and will leave the fridge on tonight to see how my battery performs in the morning. Will also carry a charged jump starter on the trip in case I find myself alone with a dead batter.

Need to work out a mount for the co2 tank.

Ipad mount installed, new single din radio/cb stack installed (noise filter should be delivered any day now), monster antenna ran to the rear bumper. And then pack! Leaving Sunday morning

......and damn, yes, the wifey is right, I spend way too much money on this truck.

I need to do my brakes as well. But no time :(

See you soon.

most newer fridges should be just fine with one battery if you plan to drive some every day. Some (most?) have low voltage cutoff. Do pay attention to the wiring, though, as this has a big effect on the practical cutoff point. So, in most cases, the issue is not likely the starting, but more the food warming up.

I think I've just put blinders on, no to do list anymore other than pack. If I start nit picking it'll never end!

I don't think any of the stuff we are going to do is over the top. If it was dangerous (even remotely) I would expect the group to not run it with rigs full of kids. I myself have no worries. The only thing hovering over my head is the 56 hours driving round trip.

We also have nearly 30 choices of vehicle to Jump Start off of. Bring your trucks guys, now is not the time to be making big changes. The basic PM stuff you are doing to get ready fir tr long trup is excellent! This is all front country, low potential for breakage wheeling. You guys will do great and will LOVE it!

Yeah I would hate to notice something's broken or needs attention half way between Amarillo and ABQ.

I'm going to steal you trailer!

need a sanity check here, and correct me if i'm wrong, but the hundy doesn't have a oem constant 12v power plug, right? Looking for one to run my fridge while the ignition is off.

Found this quote in the 100 section

To get power to the outlets regardless of key position, simply remove the ACC relay. Make a short jumper (12 or 14ga) wire, strip each end and attach a 1/4" male Fast-On (flat tab) terminal on each end, and insert each end into the larger relay sockets. Use a good crimping tool (no vise-grips, etc.). A bead of solder on the end of the wire AFTER crimping won't hurt.

Obviously the the better route is to run directly from the batter to a fuse box, but considering timelines and a non existent budget atm, is this suitable for running a fridge? Thanks!

I did the cable/fuse run. You can just pick up a good inline fuse from a stereo shop for this trip. Worry about the full fuse box and etc later.

All you SHOULD need is the large gauge wire, inline fuse, and a cig lighter receptacle. Some more electrically minded guys might want to confirm/deny this, but it should work.

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD, and hopefully approved by the NSA.

I plan on installing a jumper this weekend just to get the factory power plugs running but I would run a dedicated cable for the fridge. Why not just go buy a quality amp wiring kit and run it to the back? You can put a power plug on the end of it if you want.
I plan on installing this weekend:

All,

The link below is a contact list (phone numbers), a basic route (main cities you will be traveling through), and your radio information (CB/HAM) as well as what you can provide assistance wise to fellow members. Please fill out the information and save it. I have included my information. This will be a good way to touch base with other members that are driving 1,000+ miles out west. If a issue arises, we have each others information. Remember to save this list as a .PDF or print it the night before you leave. Data may not be available in all areas (to use Internet). If you do not wish you put your cell number, please put your email.

add me bamabrockatgmail.com or my email with my name and I'll add my info. I didn't want to add it while it was a public document. My past life as an internet troll still causes anger in some :flipoff2:

Ill add those who requested tonight.

Still cleaning up from today's work. Re-greased the CV when it was on the truck, interesting approach, it can be done. Changed t-case fluid.

The CV had maybe a pinch of grease in it. The t-case fluid smelled burnt, and only had a quart in it.
