sorry if I missed it but where did your shock hoops come from? or did you build custom?

There is a guy on the 4bt board who runs an isuzu engine that is going to run a supercharger for the off idle boost and compound that with a turbo for the top end.

The pulley size will be the experiment to determine how much boost it runs at idle and then you'd probably want a BOV so it doesn't get out of hand on high rpm obstacles, especially since you'll have some low gears to play with. Looks like it will be fun to play with and see how it does.

Going to convert it to a v-belt or convert your motor to a serpentine belt?

Probably add a serpentine to the stock crank pulley, will look for 6" or bigger, (see what i can find at the wrecker)
I will then experiment with top pulleys, the blower has a max sustained rpm of 12,000.
I don't plan on spinning it faster than the rpm where efficiency starts to drop off, given a max engine rpm of 4100 over reving the blower could be a challenge.
If that only nets 5 psi so be it, by pulling air through the turbo it should be even quicker to spool up by the time it can use more boost anyhow.

I do plan on a blow off valve and the supercharger has an internal bypass built in that i may use if needed.
So i could use it to bleed off boost at idle or even when the clutch is depressed.

20 pages of awesome man. I really wish my 60 fit in the garage......... and wasnt stored elsewhere for the winter.

D

Got a set of Marks 3.05 gears that also drop the Hi range by 8%. Was not happy with 5:29 gears and 42s, i didn't think my gears were deep enough.

Jebus, are those your Christmas present to yourself?

:D:rolleyes:

Brother, it's always Christmas when you're buyin' Land Cruiser shizzle for you-self !!

Finally got around to assembly of the ToyBox & Marks gear set.
Went pretty well, only one real hickup, but with a little help i was back on track.
The supplied spacers were too large for the shaft so i made my own, and i had to supply a split collar i did not get.

Had to transfer the bushings in the gears over to the new set.
They were in great shape and swapped in no problem.

Picked up a 7" serpentine pulley from a Chevy PU for my blower drive.
Cut it down, sandwiched in a short shaft chey power steering pulley.
Now i can start final mounting of the blower.

Nice to see you back at 'er
