Glossary of terms.

13bt - basically a 3b motor that Toyota added a turbo too to try to help it keep up with traffic.

2f - a 6 cylinder gas motor that some how uses as much gas as a v8 with half the power.

3b - the slowest motor Toyota ever built.

40 - 40 series landcruiser the best looking one.

45 - longer wheelbase 40 either a pickup or troopy configuration.

60 - 60 series landcruiser bread and butter of the overlanders.

70 - 70 series landcruiser the last of the good ones.

80 - 80 series landcruiser when landcruisers started to look like everything else on the road.

Bj - it’s obvious this stands for a 4 cylinder diesel motor!

FF - full floating axle (should have had replaceable spindles)

Fj - designation meaning 6 cylinder gas motor.

Fst - factory soft top.

H41 - 4 speed early transmission with a lower first gear

H42 4 speed transmission that came after the h41.

Hj - No it’s not something your first girlfriend gave you in high school, it’s a 6 cylinder diesel motor!

IFS - independent front suspension, frowned apon by us with solid axles.

IMHO - in my humble opinion??? Lots of opinions on here not manny of them humble.

Iron pig - 55 series landcruiser the rustiest of all the landcruisers and weirdest looking.

OME - Old Man Emu Aussie for awesome cruiser sh*t

Overlanding - when you add 2000 pounds of gear you never use to your already heavy slow cruiser.

PO - Do shady work on your cruiser only to have it pointed out on here, blame it on the Previous Owner.

PTO winch - A dyslexic typo for POS winch. A winch powered by the motor so when you put your cruiser on it’s side and really need it you can’t use it. (Just kidding I think they are awesome)

SF - semi floating axle or single female, I’m not sure about this one yet.

Sor - or sometimes $or the second most expensive place for cruiser parts, second only to Toyota.

Split case - trasfer case that to remove it, it needs to be split in two.

Tcase - trasfer case that thing behind the transmission.

Three speed tcase - refers to the transfer case that was in early 40 series that attached to the three speed transmission, desirable because of the low gearing.

Trunnion - I don’t know but it sounds delicious.

Wheeling - when you go out 4x4ing have too manny beers put your cruiser on it’s side and the wheels spin in the air

Oil filter housing gasket for the 3b 15691-56031

Swapping my oil filter orientation on my 85 3b form point up to pointing down the way the early 3b filters were more clearance for the turbo.

If anyone else also wonders if a b motor oil filter housing will fit the 3b I checked and it won’t.

New transfer case input gear with splines the whole length including the spacer from cruiser outfitters. A fix to a wear point on the transmission output shaft on high mileage cruisers. I pull a trailer almost all of the time i imagine would put extra pressure on my gear splines this should keep them from getting damaged.

Last winter I ripped one of my rusted sway bar axle clamps. The new replacement bushings I ordered part number 48815-10090 ended up being slightly more rotund than the original. The original clamps were about 1/4 inch too short to fit over the new bushings. That’s is ok because I couldn’t find the clamps anyway. This left me with no choice but to make new clamps.

Got a new windshield gasket without the locking strip from cruiser outfitters and crossed off a large nagging project.
