MileHi
Hey guys..I'm trying to figure out if I should invest in a roof basket for my 60 or a system like a yakima system that I can put my bike/snowboard etc on. What can one of those baskets hold, and or what do you guys with these baskets on the top of your trucks use them for? Thanks in advance.

OTOH

(on the other hand)

You get a basket and it handles everything a yakima or thule can plus...Jack, spare tire, shovel, axe, jerry cans, coolers, duffle bags, fishing equipment, axles, lights, tool box etc.

Ultimately, your decision should be based on your needs, if its bike and board only get the lighter one.

Yakima MegaWarrior will accomodate a spare tire, a hi-lift, axe, and shovel with Yakima's accessory add ons. I don't believe they've added a jerry can carrier yet. Go this route and you can customize it to your hearts content for just about any use.

Have been pleased with ours to date,

IMHO the less crap you have on top of your truck the better. Roof racks themselves let alone full of stuff will effect your gas milage. These rigs aren't aerodynamic as it is, no need to help it along. Unless of course you have no room inside and the roof is your only out.

Just my 2 cents .

true, but when you are camping out the back of your truck, its nice not to have to unload it every time you go to bed. (air matress style)
