Just to confirm - You are running wheels with 4.25" back spacing and only a 6mm front spacer to clear the calipers? Doesn't seem possible, since the 15" rim needs 3.5" back spacing to clear and as far as I can tell a 16" rim would need 3.625" back spacing to clear.
OK here we go 4.25" backspacing a negative 6mm offset with 6mm spacers that are more like 1/4" from LORDCO and the rim clears the calliper by 3mm. Simple ! LOL!
Thanks, well we will see how the tires do at RIVER SHIVER a TLCA event in the Rockies.
All I can say is that at 120km/h these tires are SMOOOOOTH very round and true. At 120 I can let the wheel go and it goes straight. They are also pretty quiet compared to the YOKOs.
For the road I give the thumbs up.
I am getting ready for Moab this spring and got my 315/75/16 MTRs with Kevlar. They are on Mickey Thompson Classic II Alloys - were suppose to be 3.625" BS, but measured 3.75" BS. The wheels cleared the calipers and TRE, but not the springs. Installed 1/4" spacers and they cleared the springs. The front diff is 30 mm forward. Tires run much smoother and track better on the highway than the old 33X12.5/15 Truxus. Firmer sidewalls when aired down, over the Truxus, which were too soft of a sidewall on gravel and the truck wallowed through the corners. I have not run them in the wet, snow or mud yet - we will see how they perform. So far so good.
Yup. John at RADD brought over an 89 HJ61 VX Grey . The plan was for it to be parted out but there wasnt much interest. So I asked how much for it complete and running. Dad and I went over to RADD 3 weeks ago and put half down. I actually told JOHN at RIVER SHIVER I wanted it.A bit of work was needed ,while it was over on the Island ,John had it inspected for us and Kyla brought it over on the ferry last thursday. Dad and I are extremely happy . The 61 is better than was expected.
When I was a little younger than you Like 18 back in 1988 , I had a gasser 1980 FJ 40 , I wanted a B or 3B sooooo bad that I used to put a couple of bucks of diesel in the tank so the exhaust had a mild diesel aroma. Well after doing that a few times my 40 was taken away by the Cruiser Gods. LOL
Here are a few more shots - have not been out much - welding and repairing Rock Sliders, making a rear door mount to the fit the huge 35' spare, complete cooling system flush, new radiator and bypass hoses - getting ready for the Utah run - 5,000 km
Too early to tell, as I have not run them in a wide variety of conditions. As you would expect they are smooth runners on the highway and a little louder than the Truxus. Deep mud is usually the real test - but not likely to find that in Utah.
