This is what I'm eyeing at the moment.
Add the inch I want in the wheel, not the sidewall. Keep gearing happy not exceeding real 34".
Add the width I want in the wheel (18x)9", and keep the tire more square for lateral stability without having to add PSI.
Only problem is its all E loads. So if thats the case, keeping the sidewalls the same will make it more harsh.

Now the other issue is an 18x9 +35 in a wheel I like. And what to do with my 33" fitment...

Im baking my "bbk" 16+ rotors in those 17s right now. I dont like it.

I haven’t run lt285/70r17 however I can still provide some insight here. Driving back to back a LX570 with lt285/75r17 and my LC with LT285/70r18 there is a noticeably softer rider with the LX570 and the lower load rating of the “75” profile tire. My LC Has a small lift with the adjustable Tough Dog shocks. Driving the LX in sport mode (or whatever the firm mode is with the AHC) was close to the firmness of the Tough Dogs at their middle setting with LT285/70r18. Also The handling wasn’t as sharp with the 17” wheels and “75” profile tire.
I did like how the the ride was much softer and when aired down offroad there is much more flex in the sidewall with the “75” profile tire.

A drawback to the LT285/70r18 is that the options are limited, with only a few non MT models offered: Ridge Grapplers, Exo Grapplers, Toyo AT3 and maybe a couple other smaller lesser known brands.

There are options in 305/65/18 and 295/65/18. Ranging is size from 33” to just under 34”.

Thanks for that feedback, were both LTs E load?
Don’t doubt AHC helped either, it works a charm.

Such a shame C loads are few and far in between in these sizes.
Also, i don’t want to exceed a 285 width unless I go to 20” wheels.
There are more SL tires in that wheel diameter though.

so for my choice change of 285/70r18, harsher ride seems inevitable…

You are welcome, Yes both LT load range E. The AHC was a welcome surprise, it sure makes for a plush ride.
I haven’t seen many C rated tires especially in the 17” and 18” tires sizes. Goodyear Territory is now offered in C in the 18” wheel size but I have no desire to run their tires.
I have noticed a decent difference is ride softness going from a 3 ply to a 2 ply sidewall. Makes daily driving a bit more enjoyable with E rated tires.

Or are you just looking for a 34” option?

Yeah, nominal. Im prob about to lift one more inch, cant help myself.
My package will look small lol

With the updated gearing in the 3rd Gen you could run those 34.5” sizes. Lots more choices in “35s”

best 35“ tire for a 20” wheel? Lol round and round we go.

Do you really think i wont notice “35”s?
I dont notice “33”s at all really through the trans.
Most roadside speed screens clock me at my gauge speed, and my mpgs are pretty accurate.

Again though, loss of sidewall and E loads Only.

Wow another rare tire lol. How do you do that!
These tires aren’t showing up in either DT database or tiresize.com.
Do tell your secret there.

The $$$ yeah i guess, its just i dont want to waste my current set. It would have to contribute a major portion of that cost. Paid like at least $2k for those alone.
Then tires, twice… I paid the Ps to C load cost difference too.
Mostly because they fake the sidewall lugs on the Ps.
