As Dan said, it is blessed for a gaser, as for all you JDM 1HD-T owners out there whats up? My unit, although it is stock except for the 3" exhaust just netted me 25.5MPG average on a round trip i made last weekend from Langley to smithers BC. And for those who know the first half of the trip is not the easiest. However in town i average arround 15-19 (lower mainland traffic= step on it )

Is this using US gallons for calculation or otherwise?

I am getting 18-20MPG (US Gallon) or 23-25MPG (Canadian Gallon). Must be clarified in order to ensure we are all speaking the same language. Nonetheless, I know someone played with my injection pump and who knows about what else prior to it being shipped to me.

My 18-20MPG was while driving at 75MPH on the I5 in WA.

I recently drove to Roseburg, Oregon from Puyallup, Washington with 4 adults and 3 kids in the landcruiser, I got 17.04 miles to the gallon. That was a jump for joy event. I drove from augusta georgia to puyallup and averaged 13.6 miles to the gallon and that was pulling a quarter the crap that I own and a toyota yaris on a dolly with my wife and 3 kids. My cruiser runs great.

I'm on my second 80. My old 94 was a consistent 11mpg and now my 96 is a consistent 12. The best I ever got from either was 13mpg with the cruise set at 55 at sea level and no hills. I simply cannot believe anyone with a gas 80 has gotten more than 18mpg.

Seems like something is wrong, in my bone stock pavement pounder unlocked, just did over 325 miles on 21.998 gallons. Definitely not all highway miles either.

The tank before that was 276 miles on 17.224 gallons, solid 16mpg.

Worse tank was 11.9

My first two tanks were 14.2 mpg (US) mostly city. I have a P401 code, so that could be dropping it a bit. I planned to see what the highway mileage was, but forgot to reset the trip meter after a fillup before a long trip. Doh!

Driving style is the biggest difference you can make I'd say. I don't pretend I have a sports car ard drive accordingly.

I do feel like I have a sports car after I drive the LX450 for a while then get in my FJC

My FJC averages between 19 and 24 mpg.

I'm with you. I drive like a grandpa with my 80 and I can't imagine ever getting 15 mpg, much less getting close to 20. When I want sports car feel, I jump in my Cobra.

I get similar mileage results...

I'm driving a stock truck, and was getting consistently 14.5 city and 16-18.5 hwy.

Then I changed my o2 sensors.

Now I get 16 city and 19.5 hwy. I think altitude has something to do with it. Cars run leaner up here. I don't have hard evidence that altitude has anything to with it. But I drive up and down a lot of hills, which should consume more gas, and I still am getting these numbers.

My driving style is somewhere between grandma and a race car driver, so I don't think these numbers are out of line.

My truck runs great! So, I'm not looking for something wrong

Too bad I'm about to kill my mileage with some mods!

Correction to my previous statement. I did make a mistake converting to MPG. On the highway i will get 800km to 85Liters of diesel averaging a speed of 100KMH, So i believe the actual conversion for that is 22.5MPG @62MPH

Who drives a turbo diesel at 100 km/h on the freeway?

My 12H-T converted FJ80 gets just under 18 US MPG in town on 33" tires. Since I've bumped up the boost to 15 psi, my throttle foot has all of a sudden developed a tendency to stomp down on the pedal, and consequently my fuel consumption has dramatically increased...but so has the smile on my face.

When the 3FE was in there, my fuel consumption was closer to 11-12 US MPG in town...and there was no power to justify the fuel consumption. Total slug. Substantial savings especially factoring in the 10 cents/liter cost differential between gasoline and diesel these days.

With tune-ups my 3fe,s are getting 17.5. I dont think thats too bad. It is also pulling my 20 foot Glastron ski boat and getting 14s. Not to shabby. Mike

My best is 14 or so and the worst is 7. I'm a bone stock 96 that runs great, I can't even imagine getting close to 18. I would be excited to get 15.
