Hello all,

I have a 2005 Toyota Land Cruiser that I bought back in 2019. Although the miles were low (92k at time of purchase) and the prior/original owner had all work done at the Toyota dealership in Yuma, AZ where he bought the car new, he was seemingly rough on the truck and I've spent a good deal of time baselining and updating since acquiring it. For anyone curious, a list of the mods/updates/etc. is below underneath my sign-off.

Summary of suspension:

About a year and a half ago, I was fortunate enough to purchase a tough dog 2" lift kit from Jason at Trail Tailor. More specifically, I purchased - and am in the process of installing - the following items:
  • TD heavy springs (rear);
  • TD 45mm adjustable shocks (rear);
  • TD 53mm big bore shocks (front)|;
  • TD heavy duty torsion bars (w/ support brackets);
  • TT Diff Drop
  • TT heavy duty, extended sway bar links (front and rear); and
  • TT UCAs (front)
Current Status of Install:

I completed the install on the back of the truck last weekend without issue (if I'm being honest, the bolts to the rear springs were a PIA to access but I ended up getting those without having to drill a hole in the floor of the truck). I started working on the front suspension yesterday (Sunday the 23rd), and I'm close to wrapping things up. I currently have the front of the truck off the ground and on jack stands. The diff drop is done. I've installed the front shocks and front UCAs on both D and P side, but left the lower nuts loose on the shocks and both nuts loose on the UCAs (i.e., the nuts are hand-tightened; they haven't seen a wrench yet). The torsion bars are in but I haven't cranked / tightened them yet.

Question:

Given the current status of things in the front - i.e., in the air and on jack stands (under the frame only), diff drop installed, shocks and UCAs installed but lower nuts on shocks and both nuts on UCAs are only hand tightened, and torsion bars installed but not yet cranked - what is the correct/preferred order of using a torque wrench to tighten the remaining nuts and crank the torsion bars?

This site has been an amazing resource; thank you to everyone who has contributed time to helping the uninitiated like myself learn how to wrench on these amazing trucks.

Thanks again!
