There seem to be a couple of versions of the Super Top fabric that I have seen. One, like mine, is a fairly matte finish fabric. The other I have seen is kind of a shiny vinyl. You may want to do a little checking to be sure you get what you want.

My Super Top came with the truck, so it stays for the near future. If I had a choice It would have been a paki top.

It's ashame that Specialty Top Company went out of business. Their Fast-trac top was very nice. Another option if you can find one.
i had one of those on my first LC and it was wicked easy to use. I liked how quick it went up but hated how it looked..

Look at top on Cirbo's build thread. It's a Bestop on it looks really good. If you spend enough time installing it correctly, it will look better.

Good point. Yours is the "denim" and the "vinyl" is the shiney stuff. I wanted the denim, but I was shipped the vinyl, instead, from some ebay seller. At the time, I figured it wasn't important enough to fuss about. I now wish I had as the vinyl seems not to hold up as well as the denim. Plus, I just think it looks cheaper.

bestop makes 3 colors: black vinyl, black denim, and tan. The only problem is, they don't seem to make the tan for cruisers, only heeps. I would have preferred the tan.

Next on the agenda, before I buy, is to see if I can find it with the tinted windows. Most of the retailers I found from bestops "where to buy" page had only one option: black denim with clear windows. We'll see...

Actually they discontinued the black vinyl and charcoal colors. They only offer black denim now for the fj...making me think twice about a bestop top now:bang:

i wonder if you could tint softop windows???

I think there was a product quite along time ago....basicly you spray it on ...wait a short time and wipe it off.

the longer you wait ...the darker it gets...to about a 30-40% tint....but....I believe it was discontinued because people were basicly destroying their tops...seaping under tape on the nice vinyl/cloth top....over spraying...wiping too hard  ouch :)

EDIT: just a thought...you can try different things...If you get scraps from an upolstery shop...you can try deck stain...the pigment would need to penitrate the plastic ...making the plastic window soft...i would think if you use a squeegee you would be able to get it not to streak...alot of research, trial and error...and alot of hassle.

much easyer to get tinted window vinyl from an upholstery shop and have them replace your windows

I have black vinyl on the 40 and black denim on the CJ...Both from Bestop....The denim is obviously thicker than the vinyl giving it a much sturdier feel but I absolutely love the black vinyl....I can clean it to look like new every time....The denim seems to have a more faded look.....Its ok...just not for me...

In my opinion that big rear window on the Bestop needs to be tinted. The others are so small,:meh:.
A boat awning shop could easily replace the rear window with tinted, probably for cheap. (sorta cheap)

was just complaining... there's enough heeps out there to make all those options viable for them. We're stuck with whatever they pick for us.

Good idea on the boat or upholstry shops; switching out the clear for tinted should be right up their alley.
