Decided to rent one of the SoCal offroad teardrop trailers prior to potentially buying one. Renting it over thanksgiving weekend from the Sedona location and wanted some input on where we should take it to camp? Don't really want to go too high in elevation due to low temps. Any suggestions?

there is a pretty cool spot back in the four peaks area, and whats nice is you can choose how far back/elevation you want to do.

Could hit a few spots off Schnebly hill road

sounds interesting. M, do you have a picture or link to the trailer?

Ive never seen that model. Very cool and appears like a great use of space. I agree, best to rent and find out of it worth it than finding out after the fact. Post up your impressions if you can.

If you wind up coming by the Phoenix area, please stop by. I would like to take a few photos and measurements. This is on my list of to-do's to make one...

 You need to get out of that shop:flipoff2:

I'm currently making one, so if you're more than welcome to come camp in my driveway, so I can take measurements! Ha, For winterish camping....

Agreed you should stay out of elevation, depending on how far you want to travel but around Cibola (can't remember if its CA or AZ) but along the river if you do some research on Expedition Portal they definitely have some good write ups. Also if want to stick around here some, Four peaks area is good but the lower elevations (at least coming in from the west) don't have a great amount of spots you could camp.

Looking forward to pics!

We will be in Mexico from Wed-Mon and meeting a couple other MUD families for a Saturday beach run

Was up in Sedona this past Sunday and I think I past the place your renting from. Trailer was out front with RTT mounted on it. Went up Schnebly Hill road for about 4 miles. Pretty chewed up as they don't grade it anymore.

Did you ever rent this and if so what were your impressions of it?

Long story... Bad trip sums it up. We got there and it took about an hour for them to go through everything. They have a checklist to show nothing was damaged prior and what it came with etc etc.. finally get to hook it up and my trailer lights don't work. I thought all was well because the day prior I had installed a new pig tail with the dummy LEDs just in case and they lit up, but still did not work on the trailer. They tested it with another truck and it worked fine..

They were very nice though and refunded us fully. We plan on renting it again sometime once we get the lights fixed or bring the Taco. It was very very nice and well built. No one had rented it yet, would've been the first, unsure if I wouldve liked putting the first scratches on a 25,000$+ trailer!

"Monniepoo" here on MUD towed one of those behind her FJ Cruiser; took it to Surf-and-Turf at least once - she doesn't check into MUD very often anymore, and I don't know whether she still has it
