This is a plow rig that I had on my '80 FJ40 (since sold) - the plow was a Meyer ST-72 (6 footer) and pushed a ton of snow...

Here's my set-up on the '76 for this winter...

I tried a 7 1/2 foot blade and didn't like it nearly as much - too heavy on the stock springs, though it would probably be better on heavier springs. Running a 6 1/2 footer this year.

Also, found that the Meyer TM models were a little too "light duty" for the plowing that I do.

By the way, power-angle is the only way to go....ask Bennett, he'd agree....

Hope that helps.

I have an old Meyers on my 71 40. I've been plowing with it for 20+ years. Power angle is the best

power steering hydraulic powered snow blade

Home shop built blade.

Going to put on a power pivot using a hydraulic ram and a manual operated valve.
I will still have to get to pivot the blade but now I can fine tune the angle very easily. Should have it done this weekend. Also have to replace the rubbing strips on the bottom of the blade. The last set lasted about five or six winters. The blade was built in 1990 There are three pins and two hydraulic hoses to take it off and on, soon to be four hydraulic hoses when the power pivot is finished.

Works good, now all we need is snow we have about 1/2 an inch.

Thanks jb

Plow with an old Chevy. 40's are prone to enough rust problems without a tidal wave of road salt.
