Added some extra lighting today. A couple of eagle eyes in the rear to supplement the reverse lights and a couple of 18w mini-bars in the front.

More pics. This hill was dug out terribly with holes that were swallowing my tires entirely. I almost made it up, winched the rest of the way, winched the unlocked 4Runner up, and TonsOFun in the Punkin' (former MetalTech truck) winched up from about the same spot I did.

Cool pics. Looks like a fun winch day. Can't wait to see dirt/mud here in CT.

Snow has been so deep you can't really wheel. Hopefully by next weekend.

I found a custom cut LC 9.5 front axle locally that is set up to use the 80 knuckles and 9.5 third. I'm thinking I'm going to pick that up this week and look at swapping out the front axle. Time to hunt for a rear e-locker third.

Is that front axle in Washougal? If so, I have been eyeballing that for a long time :) Someone needs to pick it up. I'd be interested in your front when done! lol

Just getting back into a LC after years of other experiments. I had two FJ40's before and am wondering what makes this axle you speak of a "9.5"? If my memory serves me my 40 manual stated that the ring gear was 8.875". In need of clarification here.

It's a 9.5" ring gear (technically 24 cm). The confusion comes from people like Randy's Ring and Pinion stating that the lunchbox lockers are for 8.875" ring gears (I don't know why they say this, maybe @Poser knows).

Oh, forgot to mention that after the last wheeling trip I stopped by the scales to weigh the truck...... 6750 lbs with the family in it.
I'm thinking it may be 5 seat buggy time.

So, I picked up an np241 and np205 along with a bare D60 front housing, and I may have one of the best deals ever on a 6.0 LS engine with a 700r4 (free, just waiting to see if it goes through). I'm either going with the 6.0 if it happens or a 5.3/5.7 LS, 241/205 doubler and tons.
The plan is to keep it linked in the rear with better link geometry and a radius arm setup in the front (Ford style long radius arms) using ORI's all around. I'm going to add an exo using 1.5 dom, and probably mess with some clearancing of the rear fenders to stuff a taller tire.
Unlike my other builds, this one will take some time as my vet program is a time suck. I'll update after I'm done moving and I've started cutting things apart.
