HDC, it's time for our second snow wheeling trip for the year. I'm open to suggestions but I was leaning toward heading to Johnson Mesa. If you have other suggestions, please let me know. Bring your snowshoes if you wanna hike around at lunch time.

Let's meet at the Home Depot in Bernalillo at 8:30 am and we'll convoy from there. Please bring your chains in case the snow is deep, as well as snow shovels, recovery gear, proper clothing, and food. Bring extra food just in case we end up taking longer than we should.

I believe you call this area Gallina.

Think I may be able to make it

I am a maybe. Don't have any chains, so I would turn around if it gets too deep. Will decide on early Sunday morning.

I think I have chains that would fit your tires.

Thanks. Will see if I can clear my calendar that day. Will let you know. 265/70/18 tire size. slightly smaller than 33/10.50/18 size. Is that what you have?

Ya, I believe they are 33" chains.

Pappy - can you make this event/trail heading please? Thx.

Is this snow run up by Cuba? or Las Vegas?

Vince,

It's near Gallina, so it'd be north of Cuba, off of 550 then due east for a bit.

Thanks Ali,
Got it, this is the first I ever heard of Johnson Mesa.
