Hey there everyone, I was just getting ready to purchase a safari snorkel but then had a major issue come up..will it clog up with snow when im driving on the freeway etc in snow storms?? Reason why I ask is that I travel up to Lake Tahoe for snowboarding competitions and im always going up durring snow storms...so will it clog and if so, wont this mess with the beast and its air flow etc to the engine? Thanks and hope some person has some personal exp. with this situation. Chans

The inlet neck is clamped to the top of the snorkel tube and I can be "spun around" to face backwards if you like. This will keep Heavy snowfall from being injested.

Hey thanks cruiserdan for your thoughts on this matter.....just one last thing, by turning the top around would it mess too much with the air intake? I guess I need to see whats worse, less/no air intake from snow clog or just less air from turning the breather around....I know your advice is good, everyone and myself can only give praise to mr cruiserdan!!! Thanks!!

By turning it around you are really no worse than if you didn't have a snorkel at all. I wouldn't suggest blocking any portion of it off though. When facing forward I suppose you would get a little ram air effect but really the filter probably takes a lot of this away. My friend has one on his 60 and he has an intake air temp sensor. When we hooked up the snorkel hit air intake temps dropped over 20 degrees. And being that we live in a desert the sucking air from up high prevents it from sucking in as much dust. I notice my air cleaner stayed cleaner longer after I installed a snorkel on my 60. I think really in a gasoline motor in the US the snorkel is almost more of an appearance item than a functional item unless you are running a turbo or something.
