Hey Sniper pros - so I’ve got everything installed, went through the wizard guide and can get the engine to run and it runs strong but definitely have some timing issues to sort out. That said I have the RPM set at 700 and when I do get it running the RPM are in the 1500 to 1900 range? Any thoughts on a quick fix? Dying to take it for a spin today. @GA Architect @wngrog

Here is screenshot of it not running.

My IAC is obviously way to high. Should be in the 2-8 range.

They come set with a high idle. You have to back the idle down on the Sniper unit itself.

Go back to the manual and read the IAC setup.

You need to get the timing close as you can then get it to 165*

Then you adjust the screw until the IAC is in the proper range. The Sniper will go to your set idle

Did you adjust IAC startup ? Or ramp down?

Nolan, are you talking about adjusting the throttle blade adjusting screw to get the IAC between 2 & 10?
Bottom of page 46 in "THIS" manual

Fire it up and let it run, even at high RPMs of 2000-2400 like it did today and let it run until 165 degree tem is reached. Than adjust the throttle blade screw until IAC between 2 and 10?

Does it now idle at the RPM you have it set for?

I havent performed a second start up yet. Hope to this after noon.
So in the above post I was asking if I should proceed allowing it to reach learning temperature even if it’s idling at above 2000 RPMs?

You can back out the throttle blade adjusting screw with the engine cold just to get the idle down till it warms up to temp. Then reset it.

Also, the screen shot you show above is in the "Advanced Tuning". I wouldn't make any changes there until you're up and running and get more familiar with it. I'd stick with the "Basic Tuning" for now.

If at all….

Confirm your Wizard settings. Rerun it.

Have a timing light ready with the vacuum capped.

While it is doing initial warm up check timing and spray around sniper for vacuum leaks.

I agree though if it stays at 2500 all the way into 165 the throttle Plate is way out of adjustment.

Make sure the cable is not binding.

Saturday couldn’t come fast enough. I will be working on the sniper as soon as the battery is charged.
I took a few photos this morning. The curb idle screw looks to be all the way in clockwise and the throttle blades are bit open. Is the the way it should be out of the box? Please note I have yet to touch the curb idle screw.
