12volt.
The one where you are the ground. Audio and visual readings, still available?

Explain?

SnapOn makes several voltage testers, don't know about one that's grounded through a human, though.

I was just a simple circut tester (test light), with no ground lead. Your body was the ground if you touched the frame or any gounded part of the vehicle.

I cound not find it in the on-line catalog, bummer, pretty cool..

an electrical supply house or maybe even home depo. there are voltage testers there, they look like a big pen. they ususlly have a watch battery or a AA battery.you just hold it up to the wire and the tip glows or a buzzer goes off. they dont have a prong or metal lead like the two wire type tester, they just detect the magnetic field. that might work for you. be careful and check wha the voltage range it will detect..they should be able to read DC no matter what, but most will only works on voltages between 70 volts and up or something. at the electrical supply houses i've seen ones that work at low voltages, but i've never looked at the ranges from the home depo.

What do you plan on using with it? it it is standard 12 volts thats fine. If its sensors, go with the snapon vantage--older unit on ebay.
