I followed an 80 set up the same up that hill and watched it get passed by a semi...so it could be worst
So you're saying a Blazer is lookin' pretty good then...![]()
You should get a Blazer, then. I believe the CSC trail gang can vouch for the fat that it goes faster than 36mph over the hills on Beeline.
.
I hit the power button on the center console.
... I hit the power button on the center console. It changes the shift points...

I think Phil is making yet another case for the 100 and it's V8.
The "power button" is fun to play with and all, but once your getting near the mat with the skinny pedal the "power" shift points are automatically used, so does no good. My routine is; when approaching the hill, hit the OD button, turning it off, this shifts 3rd and wakes the motor up, lets it know that we are about to have fun, then mat the shinny pedal.![]()
He hasnt missed an opportunity yet...
Kevin, with the stock gears and 37's, arent you really in second gear when going up steep inclines? What rpm are you at in second gear and 60mph?

I will be adjusting the throttle cable in the next few days (time permitting) to determine if I have a stretched cable or not.
The transmission just does not downshift as I expect unless I raise up off my seat and really push!! Maybe my legs are just too short.
...

Murf, how does the SC perform when you are going up those hills? Is it a significant increase?
. ... I'd look into that shift cable...
On the solenoid/ECU shifted trans, '93 and newer, the "kickdown" cable has nothing to do with shift points. The ECU shifts the trans, the "kickdown" only adjusts the system pressure, smoothness of the shifts.
