Simply put, it was great. Easy setup and tear-down. I built a 12-ga 1-5/8 Unistrut rack for it to beef things up a bit over the standard crossbars. I'm 6'-5" and it's bigger than our King bed at home. Wife, dog and I slept great. Only problem we had was damp firewood which I eventually got to take. Ha. The King Camp rear awning is a nice addition to this setup. Also, those are the brake rotors off the 100 used for tie downs. Ha. I'm going to clean them up and paint them before the next trip. Just wanted to test them this time.

I have the smaller version and LOVE it. Wanted the larger one, but didn't really need the interior tent space as much as I need additional roof rack storage space, so went with the small. I removed the foam pad and replaced it with a full size air mattress (HUGE difference). Slept comfortably for 4 nights in Big Bend NP. The air mattress deflates in 30 seconds and folds up tighter than the foam pad meaning I can keep my sleeping bag, extra blankets, pillows, etc. in the folded tent easily. I put skateboard griptape on the ladder rungs as those get very slick if there is morning dew.

I have to say, I'm usually a stock wheel kinda guy, but those tundra wheels look great (like they should've been offered as an option on the 100s) - Great looking truck.

I have been eyeing that RTT for a while. Thanks for insight. We are a family of 5 (3 kids under 10), so hopefully this would be able to sleep at least the kids and my wife while I take refuge in the lower zippered room.

I found it for only $659 on eBay. I couldn’t believe the price. If anybody wants details, I can see if he’s still selling them at this price. Free shipping.

I am very interested - please pm me the detail. thank you

Yah, I love them. My ‘16 Tundra came with them and I found a brand new set for $800 with tires for the 100. Literally put them on the 2nd day after i bought it. Ha. Still have the factory rims. I’m going to mount ATs on them for Moab.

This is the seller. He doesn’t have any for that price currently but it changes often.

I would sure think so. I had literally just lost out on a sale for $814 at another retailer and was getting ready to pay about $900 for one when I saw the $658. My wife thought I was a god. Ha. Not really. But seriously, she did (not).

That's 4WheelParts.com - they actually own the Smittybilt brand IIRC. I'd guess that was just a sale they were running at whatever point you found it.

how long does the king camp awning take to put up? I've looked at one for a while.

Holy Mackeral!!! $658 for the XL??? I’m definitely going to be keeping my eye out for that. I’d pull the trigger right now for that deal. Does it affect the stability? Can you feel it up there in tippyness? How long does it take to setup with and without the annex?

Nice setup... not sure these would work for that camp site... you may already have them but screw ground anchors are impossible to pull out and you wouldn't have to lug around 4 rotors.

Ha. Yah, I used anchors too but needed some asphalt anchors for part of it.

Annex wasn’t included. The annex is a must in my opinion. It’s great. We had tables in there, etc. We call it the “living room.” You can feel it up there but not in a bad way. 100 was still very solid at 72-73 mph.

I have the smaller version. It is about 15lbs lighter. Having said that, I also have the ARB 2500 Awning and carry 2 loaded cargo boxes on my roof as well. The weight is "noticeable", but not nearly as much as you'd think. Primarily you'll notice this in reduced fuel economy (about a 20% reduction) and in crosswind conditions. However, I've wheeled my rig over serious off-road trails in countless off-camber scenarios and never felt my LX was going to roll or in any way unstable.
