After much deliberation, I finally decided on a pair of sliders for the 100. I’ve used multiple variations of sliders over the years on the 80’s and opted to go with a larger, step-style slider this time.

I hadn’t seen much feedback on the BIOR step sliders but they seemed perfect for my needs (tons of daily driving, long trips, wheeling, etc). I also liked the idea of the large surface area helping to protect the body from common snow buildup in a conventional slider and stray rocks being thrown by the tires (gravel roads).

For those considering their options, the extra photos here might be helpful. Overall, I’m extremely happy with design, build quality, fit and finish. These things are heavier than any other slider I’ve run and the powder coating came out beautiful; the textured finish will help make the sliders that much more functional as a step/running board replacement.

That said, if you want a more discrete slider, it’s probably not going to be for you, as the size does much them stick out. I’m ok with that however, as it’ll but that much more distance between my body and unwanted objects (wheeling or doors being opened in a parking lot)

Looks great! Mike does some great work

I agree. They look great. In the pic with the door open however, it looks like the interior floor carpet is pink!:flamingo:

Agreed.

I'd say that the iPhone white balance isn't always accurate. The carpet is very much the stock grey color.

Man thanks for sharing. I have never come across these sliders before and I think our needs are similar. I need more of a step like this for my wife and kids.

Quick question and I seriously don't mean to hijack a thread, but I don't think this question is worthy of a new thread. Why do sliders for LC's cost double, sometimes triple more than what they should cost? I know in general things for LC's cost more but we are talking about sliders. I am looking at my Hilux's sliders and they are just as big as any I have seen on a LC and it cost me 200 bucks.

I like these a lot, but my concern has been the sticking out factor. Looking down the side of the truck, how far past tires would you say they stick out? Doesn't look like too much... What size tires do you have?

The sliders stick out approximately 1/2" - 3/4" beyond the tires. I run a 305/60/18 so my tires are also wider than most. As mentioned, these are not as discrete as other sliders and you do notice them. That said, I still think they'll suit my needs perfectly and pull double duty with the :princess:

I would recommend doing a search on mud regarding the cost topic. That's been debated and some of the reasons are mentioned out there.

That said, these sliders are $750. Given the cost of materials, design, craftsmanship and quality of powder coating (included in that price), I think the price is justified. I've looked at and seen the $200 sliders you mention and I cannot see that they use the same quality of materials, require the added design complexity or come with any paint/powder coat.

Looks like Mike changed the holes from round to slotted. Not sure which one I like more, they both look good.

That's correct. I actually like the slotted shape and it looks better in person...to me at least.

Nice, thank you very much for that explanation.

Bior step sliders rock. I have had mine for years and they are great. Saved me a number of times at uwharrie. And the kids could always get in. Round holes.

Nice 100 and like the look of those sliders.

Today I installed my BIO step sliders, pics below for more 'views'. I have nothing to add to the install instructions, other than it was easier than I thought. I guess over the years my tool collection has grown that no combination of swivels, extensions, ratchets presents much of a problem (some have reported frustration with the PS A/C bracket/shield).

Love the sliders, and like how the truck looks. My old running boards were ruined from dragging them on the rocks in Death Valley.

Fantastic products, and Mikes customer service is second to none. He will pretty much custom build you anything you want if you need to change something or have an idea in mind. Check out the video below. These things are super strong!
