I'm close enough to pulling the trigger that I'm really excited.

I think I'm going to do slee bumpers on the front and back, but will do the hanna sliders.

Does anyone have slee and hanna on the same vehicle? I'm hoping the powder coating is similar and won't give it a "two tone" look.

Yeah.. I know it's a nit, but I can't help myself.

They fight. Pick one or the other.

Actually, no less than Cruiserdan has a Slee rear, and Hanna sliders. He also has a god-aweful front bumper as well, that he welded himself from scrap WWII liberty ship hull plates.

Yeah... but I'm an obsessive compulsive perfectionist. If this thing doesn't ride AND look "right" I won't be able to live with myself.

I think you and the others here have answered your question already ..

Pick a vendor, and go hog wild .. if asthetics are that important. No sense feeling s***ty every time you look at it when you know ahead of time that different finishes will bug ya. You've been honest, so follow thru ..

The liberty ship front bumper crumbled on a rock at Moab last year. I think he forgot to grind off all the rust or something. He's now sporting a new Slee front bumper with some custom mods to make it ugly. He couldn't help himself.

weren't the liberty ships made out of concrete?

:D

dude -- they're both powdercoated black.
get some mud on them...scrape them up a bit -- I seriously doubt you'll notice...but if you do, I know a pretty good shrink in the greater SD area...

You'll never know the difference.

I have an ARB front bumper, Slee sliders, and 4x4 Labs rear bumper. I don't think anybody would notice different colors.

Riley, rgsii - Thanks. That's what I was hoping to hear.

I believe the Lib ships were made out of steel, which is why they cracked in 2 in frigid waters... There were some attempts at trying out large concrete hulled ships but it was not used for production IIRC.

Sleep? At night? It's night right now.

No-The ones made on the west coast were made by Kaiser STEEL. I suspect they were made out of an alloy of iron and carbon.

I am not sure about the standard slee sliders now but my step sliders, and I believe that all slee sliders now have a textured powder coat so it wouldn't match the front or rear anyway.....that said I don't think there is a difference.

I bit of misinformation and confusing related facts seem to have been fed to me in the past.

There were some concrete ships made to support the war effort by a company called Liberty Ship building co. or something to that effect.

The actual liberty ships were metal hulled, but reinfoced with a concrete layer behind the metal to protect against submarine attacks.

Quite a few concrete ships were made were made to support the war effort during WWI and WWII.

Don't they all end up with that sort of powdery blackish rust look.
