I did a search for the placement of a Sirius XM radio antenna for an FJ40 and all I could find was one for a PIG.

Right now I have my antenna temporarily mounted on the dash, but the signal is lost a lot. Since I need my First Wave '80s music I need to find a better place for it.

Has anyone found the ideal spot to put this thing?

Photos would be great!

Thanks in advance for any help!!

If you are taking about the small magnetic hockey puck antenna, I ran mine out to the front bumper and stuck it there beside my winch. It kept it off of the body panels and it was still in a spot that picked up good reception.

Now that's a great idea. Do you lose reception a lot? I live in the hills in SF Bay Area and they can be tricky.

But I like your thinking.

I didn't have any reception problems with it there, maybe on the odd occasion of facing it to the north and being in a deep valley I may have lost reception.

I rely heavy on Sirius for all of my tunes, I DO NOT listen to the local radio stations, bunch of corporate manufactured crap.

If I had an issue with my antenna not picking up I would have fixed it ASAP.

Just don't mount it below the top of the windshield frame. On Thursday I mounted mine on the dash of my FJ Cruiser as far forward as possible and reception was interrupted fairly regularly as I drove north to Albuquerque. Seems to be relative to the angle of the satellite, because coming back, heading south, on Saturday I had no interruption in reception at all. The antenna should stick to the top of your roll bar, underneath the fiberglas top, and get good reception.

Thanks LasCrucer. I like this option the best but I never have the roof on. What I am thinking is to sew the wire into my bikini top and mount it on top of the roll bar.

I'll soon be sticking on a Intellitronix GPS speedometer sender with the little black lump too. Seems like on the windshield would work, if a Garmin gets the signal while stuck on the windshield shouldn't the lump get it too?
