I picked up a Noco shore power receptacle to have a cleaner and more weatherproof solution than hanging a cord out of the grill but curious where others have located theirs and how it looks? Ideal spot looks to be just inboard of the driver's fog light with the removal of the plastic fin from the solid part of the lower grill and a slight trim of the overall dimension of the receptacle diameter.

What do you think? Anybody come up with alternatives I should consider? If so post a pic please.

Looks like your front is a little different, but here's where I put mine:

This feeds a NOCO Genius 2-bank battery charger that I have hidden behind the grille, it works really well. I'm actually just getting ready to install another one on the driver's side to feed the engine block heater.

The black mount is just some 1/4" plexiglass that I had, spray painted black. I used a vibrating multitool to cut the ribs out of that lower grille, it worked well.

But knowing what I know now, I would have gone with a different brand. The NOCO is an obvious choice, but now there are others out on Amazon that are designed better. I had to go with the same one again as I wanted them to match. Look for my Amazon review under "Guard Dad" to see what I mean.

I'm looking into this plug too but for my travel trailer. Couldn't find your review. Mind sharing a link or what it is here?

Try this:

It's well made, but has these stupid design flaws that are disappointing. Especially since NOCO makes really good products.

This is the one I would buy now:

Amazon product ASIN B079M6BCW9
They even make fun of the NOCO, show the same flaws.

@KLF, hey thanks for posting and sharing the review. I'll note my Noco is improved from the one you did the review on in that IMO the most egregious fault you pointed out was the difficulty even plugging their own cord into the socket. I completely agree and would be sending mine back if that was the case but it seems to be solved on my unit. Clearances are fine using a range of extension cords I have and the other end of their cord plugs in easily with no conflict now. I'll also note that although I won't have an issue with it the other complaint you had regarding the cord lining up perfectly with a mounting hole remains the case on mine.

I'll post pics of the finished install on the build thread in my signature for future reference when it's completed.

Huh. Well that's interesting. I just got another one last week (Amazon), to match the first one, it will be connected to a block heater that just arrived today. So I went and pulled it out of the box, and it is exactly like the older one, the female end plug won't fit into the male end receptacle, just like the photo in my review.

Maybe there is an updated version in the stream, but I didn't get one. Oh well...

@KLF, I'm now thinking they may have made improvements to the model I have with the 6' cord (GCP1E) but not yet run out of stock of the model you bought with a different length cord? If you look at the facia of my plug it's a slightly different mold pattern than yours as well.

Unrelated but I'm from the granite state and still visit at least once a year.
