Just back from Camelback Ford, went to put the aforementioned 1k down to get the emission passing... I arrived, sat down, salesman goes to get contracts, quickly comes back and tells me it just sold for $6,700.00 to some girl, she paid via credit card.

Very strange, considering the asking price was $5,900.00

Shame. I was looking at it while I was waiting for this schmuck of a salesman- I really liked it.

@ Cook- I saw that 91 as well, thinking about taking a look it.

Smells bad to me. I think you're better off.

I've been texting back and forth with the 91 guy who just put the ad up last night...going to go and look at it this afternoon...

here are the cell phone pics he sent me...

looks liked cracked seats and the rear drivers side door looks repainted/replaced...will take more pics later...

...by the way...i'm dan and i'm looking for an 80 series myself...my buddy (thx1138) lent us his for a week while my truck was down, my wife loved it, and now we're selling her car (an 07 dodge caliber, we love it but it's too small for us and our 3 kids)...going to look at this one and we also found a 97 in albuquerque that looks good, too...

Claudia beat you to it!

Good info, Short Bus. I'll hold out for a fZJ80.

Cook- Yeah, I was going to take a look at it, but have decided to pass.

Murf, you know this lady? She beat me by 10 minutes. I've been in negotiations since friday, and told the guy I was on my way... I would think the "salespeople" of Camelback Ford would've held it for another 10-15 minutes. Horrible.

Thanks to all.

Sorry, what was meant to be a humorous (?) reference to one of our club members DSRTRDR who has been looking for one for a while. Of course she didnt or wouldnt jump ahead of your deal - not her style. My bad.

Good luck and keep on looking. I agree with the other poster about sticking with 93-97 with the bigger engine. Ive owned both (a '92 and a '96) and can say that I loved them both but given the chance, I'd go with the stonger engine.

Be patient and vigilant. Sometimes a few come up at a time online for sale. Just keep monitoring to get the jump on other prospective buyers is the best advise I can try to give.

I got a chuckle..:hillbilly:

I just hope you all get this 80 thing out of your system by the time I get serious. John, do you feel a little competitive pressure here?;)

Here you go I bid my 9K only to be outbid

1996 FZJ80 42K locked

The seller is the same guy that got $511 for a set of 3rd row sets for a 100:eek:

My guess if he can get $500 for a 3rd row look for it to sell in the 14-15K range

I was way off....sold for 27,600.00:eek:

I hope the new owner know it spent all but 200 miles of its life in NJ and MA:whoops:

You may see this for auction again after looking at the bids.

Ah, I see. No worries.

I just found one in Prescott that sounds good. I'm currently setting up a time to look at it.

Appreciate the sagely advice.

If anyone's interested, there's a 97 LX450 for sale in the Fountain Hills Times paper. White, tan interior, Supercharged, etc... $9500...

Wow, that looks clean, has anyone called on it yet and found out the mileage?

Made my purchase, thanks again for all the advice and direction.

Picture thread coming soon.

It's better to be patient, than regretful. I waited four months to find the lc that I wanted and couldn't be happier with what I found...

Rumor central says this Lexus has 104K on it, good condition, supercharged, no lockers. Owner has Three 80 series!

Another is coming out on CL very soon. A black 96 With lockers. 212K miles. Leather cracked, LF trunion leaking very badly, check engine light is on. Shows signs of aftermarket maintenance to a decent degree in the short time I saw it. One owner here in AZ. around $5700.

No affiliation with either of these.
