SHOCKS

Depends on one's application. UCA's are a bad mod in my opinion. You couldn't give them to me. RR shocks are not needed on my rig which makes them over priced to me.

After being impressed with adding bilsteins up front I decided to contact bilstein

For those interested: I talked to Bilstein regarding a 5100 series(extended) shock that will work for a hundy with 2-3" lift in the rear. Gave them some ome dimensions to see if they have something similar in size

Turns out there is a 5100 series shock but it is an eye mount in both the top and bottom mounting locations so I need to find a way to convert the existing pin mount to an eye mount..trying to see if they will cater to our needs as a 100 series crowd, if they do not...

Saw this for tacomas...not sure if it will work on a 100 series rear though

Total Chaos Accessories for 05+ Tacoma, 03+ 4Runner & 07+ Tundra

Not sure if it is a smart idea because the shock has 15.4" length, 26.4" extended length and 11.2" travel...similar to the N74L(not trying to start a back and forth regarding L's) in every regard but with the bumpstop and all the other calculations to take into consideration when calculating the amount of gained travel

The 5100 series is a lightly valve shock and see this as a issue for a 100.

The RadFlo $218/each shock option seems to be the best option for the money. Longer for more suspension extension, valved for our application, and install is plug and play. Downsides?

If you guys seriously are holding out for a $70 shock that gives you everything then well you are going to be waiting for well....EVER! You can't have your cake and eat it too. ;)

Well we offer all the extended options that work and have used them all. We have bilsteins that feature firmer valving. They are about 90-$110 a piece, these are the least expensive extended length shocks, checkout the latest 4wd toyota owner article with our uca and bilsteins. The Radflo or kings are better, but more $$.

Is a kit but also abailable seperately.

Hey Carl, sent you a pm but I will ask it again here so future reference for mudders later on

are the 4600's in the kit extended lenghth? I have never seen extended length 4600's so I just wanted to make sure. If they are then this is another thing emptying my wallet:D

Just got 2 new rear Bilstiens from autozone. Seems they have not updated their prices yet. 2 for around $150.00 and just received a $15.00 autozone card inthe mail yesterday.

I recently ordered mine from Autozone.com and delivered to my door all four Bilsteins (Front 24027397 and back 24027403) were $322.20 and they sent me $45 in autozone gift cards as a rebate of sorts.

I didn't think this was a bad deal. $277.20 to my door after the gift cards.

Think there was a 10 day lead time.

Thanks for the tip, just ordered mine for the same price.

Finally decided at 160,000 miles to replace the shocks. I picked up a full set of Rancho RS-5000's for $169 the other day from 4WheelOnline.com. Just put the fronts on and it feels like new. Had one stuck nut on the top of the driver's side, but a little heat solved that problem. All in all, about 30-45 minutes with air tools. I will set aside more time for the rears and probably drill the holes for access.

Never seen ranchos on a hundy...any reason for the decision?

$$ - really, how much sense is it to invest 2x-3x as much in a vehicle with so many miles on it? These Ranchos were cheaper than the KYB and Monroes too.

I had a full Rancho suspension on my Jeep and it was better than stock, even with the lift. Also had their shocks on a Grand Wagoneer and loved it. They also replace them if they fail (been there, done that), so it should be the last set of shocks I buy for the truck.

Having once owned a fixed up Jeep, I know the feeling of when the parts are worth far more than the vehicle. This truck has many miles to go, but I can't keep investing in upgrades on something almost ready for "antique vehicle" license plates.

Autozone is now giving out $25 cards for every $100 spent... pricing on the Bilsteins hasn't changed and they are still offering free shipping.
