O.k. so it appears my 'new' wheels are mid year 95 or newer. I'm having a devil of a time finding the correct lug nuts. Quite a few online source say the LC lugs are different than the normal Toyota shanks. I went to the junk yard and found a dozen lugs off a 4-runner. Not enough to try mounting but I took some measurements and wanted to run them by you as well as the wheel dimensions.

Wheel dimensions:

Hole diameter = .747" = 18.97mm
Seat diameter = 1.290" = 32.766mm
Hole depth = .549" = 13.945mm

4-runner lugs:

Washer dia = 1.177" = 29.9mm
Shank dia = .728" = 18.5mm
shank depth beyond washer = .379" = 18.5mm
Thread depth = 1.457" = 37mm
Washer thickness = .125" =3.175mm

It would appear these fit without issue but I was hoping someone else could measure the proper lug nuts. I'd hate to have wheel issues.

Any help?

Any help? :frown:

I happen to have a spare lug nut
96 Land cruiser lug nut dimensions in inches

Washer OD 1.188
Shank OD .735
Exposed shank beyond washer .389**
Depth of bore 1.466**
Washer thickness .120

Hex size .818
Hex depth .572
Integral washer diameter 1.090

** including tapered tip

Looks close enough to probably be the same thing,

Dude!

That photo is a work of art! I'm not kidding.

Why for you run smaller than stock tires, anyway? (Hijack.)

If you like that you would like the full sized shot, I like my Nikon does nice macro :) , just wish it would focus better in low light :crybaby:

I run Mich LTX 265/70/16 because that is what came with the truck, I have been driving on them for >30K and they still have lots of tread left :frown: when they finally wear out or if I ever feel rich I plan on getting BFG AT ko 's in 305/70/16,

Slambson,

have a caution with the choice of Lug Nuts. There are substitutes that are just a bit off enough to fit but also strip the tread off the bolts. Buy OEM from your nearest dealer. They don't cost all that much and are a perfect fit.

Raventai,

Use a good Nikon lens. They truly focus faster in low light. Not the cheap ones, but the more pricey ones with the exception of the 50mm which is a fantastic bargain.

Your picture of the lug nut truly was a fine picture and well posed.

Yep, thus the questions. Pitch does not seem to be an issue 12 X 1.5mm lug nuts are fairly common. Getting them in a shank or mag style is the difficult part coupled with getting the correct length. The dozen I picked up were off a 98 4 runner with OEM aluminum wheels.

Local dealer wanted $6.99 a lug which if I needed just a few would be fine, but at 24 X $6.99 = $167.76 + 6% sales tax came to a bill of $177.83. I think they mumbled something about shipping too but I was too awestruck to hear any more. It may be the 'right' thing to do but I'm looking for a less expensive alternative. Dan usually knocks about 30% of list so I'll give him a jingle.

Thanks RavenTai for the pic and dimensions. They appear the same and the couple of thousands might just be layer of mud I scraped off these.

You're not alone. I'm buying 26 lug nuts from a friendly source in the next couple of days and the cost is fearsome to me, but I've already bought two types of replacements that caused me to also change a few bolts for their effect.

Life does get interesting.
