Thanks for the info! I believe I'm 3rd in line to view it. I'm surprised to hear the RMS is leaking, and with only 114K. The guy said they keep it in their garage, and hadn't noticed anything on the floor.
Wow, I can't thank you enough for sharing your experience. I think this rig is not what I'm looking for after all.yep that's exactly what he said to me right before I grabbed my flashlight and looked underneath. I can't say for sure it's RMS, but it's right at the back of the engine and it's a pretty steady drip. Valve cover gasket is also leaking as well as the typical front engine leak.
Other than that, the car just looks like it really hasn't been cared for. Ton of stains on the carpets, dirty as hell engine bay, a lot of grease leaked onto the bottom of the hubs. I'm not sure if that's a sign of an axle seal failure, but there was a lot of it caked there.
We were first in line to see it on Saturday, and I believe 5 people saw it after us that day. Sounds like none of them bought it.
Also, he said it had a great service history, but he couldn't locate any of the records. Said a family member had them or something. Just seemed like a big headache to verify anything.
I don't want to totally scare you away from it. By all means go take a look, just really take a close look at everything. The good thing is I think he really is the original owner.
