Sure. PM sent.

Better Late Than Never...We're ON!!

Sheesh! Sorry gang. Kinda been pretty busy and outta town alot of August, and could never get a hold of Marty Sprunk, the bastiiid in charge of COA Open Space shelters who avoids his phone and doesn't return voice mail messages. So yesterday I drove to the Open Space office in Montessa Park and they were happy to take my check. Its a go! :bounce::bounce2::bounce:

Sunday 7 September, we are going to be at the "Double Shelter" in Elena Gallegos, and we have it from 11AM to 5PM. If theres a ranger at the gate, just tell them you're with the group at Double Shelter and you won't have to pay an entrance fee. I am bringing my gas grill and will bring killer green chile and green chile sauce fresh from Lemitar. I'm assuming someone (Steve?) is getting meat and buns and other condiments...can we NOW (that I've FINALLY upheld my end of the bargain), start a list of who is coming and maybe bringing what?!? Obviously since this isn't at anyone's house, we'll need everything from plates/napkins/utensils to baked beans and zee pickles. A to Z. BYODrinks as always. Please indicate how many of you are coming and what you might be bringing to share. We still have a week to go, so everything should work out peachy. Sorry I took so long and was incommunicado.

A quick search of the City website rules doesn't say anything about alcohol, but it does say "no glass containers allowed in Open Space."

Bearce X2, we're open to bringing anything - but since I'm first, I will do the beans...

We're getting a check for $50, so will get hamburgers, hot dogs, brauts, polish sausages, buns, and condiments for them.

Might want to double check, but knowing the City I suspect no alcohol.

OK! We got meaties and beansies. I actually assumed no alky-hol, but have not seen anything in the paperwork I signed. Up to you, but if you bring it, please be discreet! Speaking of paperwork, this goes without saying, but its my fitty clams, please don't commit acts of destruction on the site, like say wheeling over picnic tables etc.

I will bring plasticware (right now I've got about 20 plates left over from the June meeting...if you want to clear your pantries of them, please let me know!), grill utensils along with grill, otra vez, y chile caliente fresca de Lemitar.

 WE WILL NEED!:
ICE in COOLERS, POTATO SALAD OR OTHER SALADS, A FEW CHAIRS (you probably don't want to sit on benches all afternoon), FRIED OKRA (sorry, I'm originally from the SE US), chips, salsa, etc.

What else?

I will plan on a bag of chips and a cooler with ice for drinks. I'm not sure yet of her plans, but I believe that Ellen will join me.

Ahlen family will be there. I will bring hot dog buns (24) and hamburger buns (12) so you can spend a little a more on the sausage and burgers.

Does this mean we show up at 11 or would closer to 12 better?

I have more plates and plasticware I can take (there is about a 24 count on both). I can pick something else too (just let me know what is needed). More than likely only me by myself.

Rudy

Also another cooler with ice.

I'm coming. What's left to bring?

I will be flying solo. Molly has returned to the land of no hills.

I know I'll bring my MTB, but what food should I bring?

I will be there. I will bring a salad. -Vince
