Hi everyone I am selling my 1970 FJ40. I had a problem with the steering and it went out and flipped. On the way to the shop ironically. I dont have the money to fix it, and I cant work because I broke my arm in the crash REALLY BAD so I cant get a job to get money. So here it is. It's completely modified except for the body, the frame, and whats left of the role cage. It has a chevy 350 all edelbrock, Chevy trans, drivelines, and axles. It needs one new tire, a new windshield, a battery, a little body work mainly the front end, and some steering work. Oh and the rims are not for off road (I bought it with them on it so please for give me) they will snap I found out first hand in the crash. The frame is straight. So its all fixable. some of you true toyota people may not like it I know because of all the Chevy modifications please be nice. I'm looking for around 2500 obo. Thanks for listening

I'm located in hemet ca. I flippped in the dirt when the steering went out it piched sideways into a field, so the cage hit dirt. Its not as bad as it looks the frame is really straight we checked. It only flipped once I was only going 20mph. My therory is the crapy rim snapped and thats what sent it over. the steering went out because a bolt rattled out for the steering rod. I need lock tight. I need to sell it soon

Glad your not hurt anymore than you are!

I am really shocked at the damage to the roll bar. Can you give us any more specifics on the wreck? Speed? Did the roll bar hit pavement or dirt?

You even had a A-Pillar hoop and its pretty mangled. I dont seemuch triangulation though...this could be a main culprit, along with no frame tie in's. I just saw where the passenger side rear hoop came through the tub.!

Again....sorry about your circumstances.

The vehicle is located in Hemet, CA. I saw it on craigslist and suggested he try Mud.

That sucks. This must have been on pavement. The 77 I had rolled multiple times about 1/4 of the way down a local ski hill. Even with a severely rusted tub and a stock roll bar it wasn't as bad as this looks. Seeing these pictures really makes me want to get a metaltech cage sooner than later.

no I roled in the dirt it really looks worse than it is. that was a stock rolebar but not much rust on the body

well for what ever reason, rust, bad repair, etc etc....the cause of the rear hoop bending and crushing like it did...was that it was attached to nothing of substantial mass. The rear of the wheel well held...but the front gave way as you can see in the pics.

Again...at least your Still here after that!
